Honestly, when I first walked up Via Stampa, I wasn’t expecting much from this three-star place — but you know what, sometimes the best finds are the ones that don’t try too hard to impress you from the outside.

The apartment itself is exactly what it promises — a proper one-bedroom setup that actually gives you room to breathe. I mean, after staying in those shoebox hotel rooms around Europe, having a separate bedroom and living area feels like a small miracle. The kitchen is compact but functional, which came in handy when I grabbed fresh ingredients from the morning market nearby (there’s a great little produce vendor just two blocks down, by the way).

That Terrace Though

But here’s the thing that really sold me — that terrace. It’s not huge, but it catches the afternoon light perfectly, and you can actually see the Duomo’s spires if you crane your neck just right. I spent way too many evenings out there with a bottle of wine from the enoteca around the corner, just watching Milan’s rooftops stretch out in every direction. The morning coffee ritual out there became sort of addictive, honestly.

Location That Actually Delivers

You’re literally a five-minute walk from the Duomo — I timed it because I’m that person — and the whole historic center unfolds from your doorstep. La Scala is practically next door, and you can wander over to Brera for dinner without breaking a sweat. What I really loved though was discovering the tiny osteria on Via Broletto where the locals actually eat, not just the tourist spots everyone talks about.

Why Guests Keep Coming Back

Look, this isn’t going to wow you with fancy amenities or over-the-top service — it’s straightforward, clean, and gets the job done well. The building has that classic Milanese character with high ceilings and original details that remind you you’re staying somewhere with actual history. For the price point in this neighborhood, having your own space with that little outdoor retreat makes all the difference. Plus, the host left some excellent local recommendations that led me to places I never would’ve found otherwise.

  What could be improved: The sofa bed was broken when we arrived, it was extrenely uncomfortablr to sleep on it. Dust on hard to reach surfaces. The AC machine didn't work. Although, oddly it did turn ON on its own in the middle of the night, gave me a real fright….

  Excellent location, bed was really comfortable and lots of space in the property.
  
  What could be improved: Some areas were unclean, microwave still had remnants of food from previous guests, and under kitchen seats were the same. It was very noisy, the flats above you, you could hear everything even late at night.

  This was nightmare. When we come there was no electricity and we waited until tomorrow to they come And fix it. Also , we didn’t have hot water during stay. Broken sofa. Everything was really dirty , especially bathroom.

  La localización es inmejorable, a un minuto de una de las calles principales de Milán,y el Duomo a 5 min. Buena comunicación con los que gestionan el apartamento, no nos funcionaba la cafetera ni el secador y lo cambiaron.
