Walking up to Premium Modern Apartment University on Via Benedetto Spinoza, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from the understated entrance. But you know what? Sometimes the best places don’t need to shout about it. This three-star property sits quietly in Milan’s Porta Garibaldi area, and once you step inside, you realize they’ve put all their effort into the spaces that actually matter.

Location & Getting Around

The address might not scream tourist hotspot, but that’s actually what I loved about it. You’re in a proper Milanese neighborhood where locals grab their morning coffee, not somewhere overrun with tour groups. The Porta Garibaldi train station is maybe a ten-minute walk — I timed it because I’m obsessive like that — which means you can reach the Duomo in about fifteen minutes by metro. Plus, there’s this great little mercato nearby where you can grab fresh produce if you’re planning to cook.

The Apartment Setup

Here’s where things get interesting. Each apartment feels more like a temporary home than a hotel room, and the kitchenette situation is actually functional — not just for show. I mean, you’ve got a proper refrigerator, decent counter space, and everything you need to make a real meal. The modern furnishings aren’t trying too hard to be trendy, which I appreciated. Clean lines, comfortable bed, and honestly, better WiFi than some four-star places I’ve stayed in Milan.

What Makes It Work

The 9.5 rating starts making sense when you notice the small things. The shower pressure is excellent (fellow travelers know this matters), the air conditioning actually works quietly, and there’s enough storage space that you don’t live out of your suitcase. I also found the staff genuinely helpful rather than just polite — they gave me restaurant recommendations that weren’t the obvious tourist traps. The building itself is well-maintained, and you get the sense that someone actually cares about the place.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t going to wow you with fancy amenities or lobby theatrics, but it delivers exactly what you need for exploring Milan without the premium price tag. The combination of space, location, and that surprisingly high rating makes sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s particularly great if you’re staying more than a couple nights — having a kitchen means you can start your day with proper coffee and maybe save some euros by not eating out for every single meal. Sometimes the best travel experiences come from places that just quietly get everything right.

  Appartamento situato in una posizione eccellente: 2 minuti dalla M2 Linea Verde Piola e quindi Politecnico e Istituto Carlo Besta facilmente raggiungibili con una breve passeggiata. Proprio accanto vi è un comodissimo supermercato (Carrefour) aperto h.24.
  Ampio, arioso, con un bagno e una doccia grandi. Molto carino il terrazzino nella camera da letto.
  L'appartamento è nuovissimo e ben arredato. Dotato di aria condizionata, grande smart TV, connessione internet, lavatrice e lavastoviglie.
  
  What could be improved: L'appartamento è posizionato al piano terra, anche se un po' rialzato e la finestra del soggiorno affaccia su Via Spinoza, pertanto la privacy è un pochino limitata; per fortuna nessuno spia dalla strada e comunque una bella tenda lunga fa il suo dovere.
  Ovviamente la notte, o quando non si è in casa, non essendoci delle grate di sicurezza, bisogna necessariamente chiudere la tapparella.
