PRESTIGE BOUTIQUE HOMES – Duomo 1 Overview
First Impressions
When I first walked into PRESTIGE BOUTIQUE HOMES – Duomo 1, I’ll be honest — the name had me expecting something a bit more flashy. But actually, that’s kind of the charm of this place. It’s tucked away on Via Stampa, which is this quiet street that somehow feels completely separate from the tourist chaos, even though you’re literally in the heart of Milan. The building itself has that classic Milanese elegance without trying too hard, you know?
Location That Actually Makes Sense
Here’s what I love about staying here — you can walk to the Duomo in about five minutes, but you’re not dealing with the constant noise and crowds right outside your window. Via Stampa runs parallel to some of the main shopping streets, so you get easy access to everything without the premium location prices of a five-star property. I mean, La Scala is practically around the corner, and there’s this little café two blocks down that locals actually go to for morning coffee.
The Space Itself
The apartment setup is what really sets this place apart from typical hotel rooms. You get a proper kitchenette — not just a mini-fridge and microwave situation, but actual cooking space if you want to grab some ingredients from the markets nearby. The room layout feels more like staying in someone’s well-appointed city flat rather than a standard hotel. Storage space is decent, which honestly matters more than you’d think when you’re in Milan and inevitably end up shopping.
Practical Stuff That Matters
The parking situation is… well, it’s Milan, so don’t expect miracles, but they can arrange something if you really need it. Most people don’t bother with cars here anyway — the metro connections are solid. What I appreciated was how responsive the staff were when I had questions about getting around. They actually knew the neighborhood instead of just handing you a generic tourist map. The Wi-Fi works properly, the shower has decent pressure, and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a freight train.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t going to blow you away with fancy amenities or a rooftop pool. But if you want to stay somewhere that feels authentically Milanese without breaking the bank, it really works. The three-star rating is actually pretty accurate — it’s comfortable, clean, and well-located without any pretense. I’d come back here, especially for longer stays when having that kitchen space and the apartment-style setup makes a real difference. Plus, there’s something nice about staying somewhere that doesn’t feel like every other business hotel in the city center.
Locals suggest to book apartments in Milan around Porta Romana for vintage markets, trattoria spots, and tree-lined avenues.

Reviews of PRESTIGE BOUTIQUE HOMES – Duomo 1
Enjoyable stay, host extremely responsive and helpful. The flat had all items for a jump-start. Suitable for Elderly peo – Sara from France – 15 August 2025 (9/10)
The location, clean, AC availability, availability coffee, tea bags, salt/pepper/olive oil etc
What could be improved: The handle of the bed room needs to be fixed. The street is a dead end.comfortable, which with small adjustments would be a 10 – Albert from Spain – 8 May 2025 (7/10)
Very well located with the tram right next door and the metro a 5-minute walk away. Francesco was very kind and sent us some very informative videos via WhatsApp on how to find the keys. A very bright apartment with two double beds, a sofa, and a full kitchen. The bathroom was very large and bright.
What could be improved: The entrance door to the building was always open. We thought it would be locked at night, but we were coming from San Siro at 2 a.m., and it was a little scary. The bathroom door wouldn't close and kept opening, and the blind in the main room wouldn't come down. We were killing time because check-in was at 2:00 p.m. We arrived at 2:10 p.m. and the cleaning lady was working, so we had to wait another 30 minutes to get in.Good – Justine from United Kingdom – 7 May 2025 (7/10)
What could be improved: How easy was it to collect the property keys on arrival? It took 20 minutes of arriving at the property to get the information of where to locate the keys – as they had message earlier in the morning confirming what time we would be arriving it would have made more sense to provide the information then. Additionally they said the check-in was at either 14:00 or 15:00, so when we arrived at 15:40, and waited for the info on how to located keys, we didn't not enter the property until 16:00 – there was still housekeeping in the apartment, so we add to wait a further 20 mins for them to to finish.
excellent stay very enjoyable – Tracey from United Kingdom – 10 March 2025 (9/10)
Excellent location
bright and airy apartment
clean
What could be improved: shower cubicle very small -difficult to move
shower was hot and powerful enough thoughSuperb – Olena from Switzerland – 5 January 2025 (9/10)
In city center and very close to great restaurants
Ok in general – Roxana from Romania – 11 August 2024 (9/10)
The position
What could be improved: The doors are practicaly made from plastic, you can hear everything.Friendly and helpful host and excellent location! – Karin from South Africa – 29 July 2024 (8/10)
Excellent location! spacious and clean.
What could be improved: Communication around storage of our luggage was not great but in the end we did get assistance and it all worked outSuperb – Gergana from Bulgaria – 15 March 2024 (9/10)
Very clean, comfortable beds and pillows, great location. I would choose it again and rate it highest.
What could be improved: Not a fault of the property but could get a bit noisy when the stores around start managing their goods early in the morning (e.g, 6am). Some of the facilities in the apartment need renovation (e.g., bath door handle). The bathroom is quite spacious and bright but the bath cabin is super small. The host could be a bit more generous with the supplies (not obliged but would add value) – e.g., have coffee capsules for the stay. These are tiny things though which will simply add more value to the place.Superb – Charlotte from Belgium – 21 February 2024 (9/10)
Clean and 2 nice rooms
Pleasant – Mazen from Saudi Arabia – 18 January 2024 (6/10)
What could be improved: The doors are foldable wood, the bathroom doesnt lock.
