The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully arranged — clearly designed by someone who understands that travelers need functional space more than flashy décor. There’s a small kitchenette setup that’s perfect for morning coffee or storing groceries from the local markets. The bed was comfortable enough, and the bathroom, while not huge, had decent water pressure (something you can’t take for granted in older European buildings). Storage space is limited, but honestly, if you’re staying here, you’re probably not packing formal wear anyway.

Neighborhood Life

What really makes this place work is the area around it. There’s a fantastic restaurant called Trattoria Milanese just a few blocks away — locals eat there, which tells you everything. The streets have that lived-in Milan vibe with corner bakeries, small groceries, and the kind of bars where people actually stop for their morning cappuccino. It’s not the glossy fashion district, but it feels more authentic. You’ll hear Italian being spoken more than English, which I mean, isn’t that what you want when you travel?

  What could be improved: Check- in was not easy, communication was not clear, host told us they would meet us at the apartment for early check-in, but instead sent us paperwork to fill out online and a YouTube video of how to find the key a block away (which wasn’t there!) and get into the apartment on the 4th floor (never gave us the number.)

  El departamento que me dieron, que no fue el que reservé originalmente, estaba a metros del subte.
  
  What could be improved: Que me cambiaron el departamento por otro más alejado, no tenía microondas ni una esponja ni trapo para limpiar que hay que buscar la llave en una oficina a 15 cuadras de la estación central , hay que ir hasta allí con las valijas y luego ir hasta el departamento que puede estar cerca o no. Yo investigo la zona antes de reservar y cuando te la cambian el día anterior no está bueno. El chico que nos atendió amable no volvería.
