Primopiano – Bardelli Overview
First Impressions
Primopiano – Bardelli sits on a quiet residential street in Milan‘s Città Studi district, and honestly, you might walk right past it if you’re not paying attention. The building has that understated Italian elegance — nothing flashy, but there’s something charming about the way it blends into the neighborhood. This three-star spot feels more like staying at a well-appointed apartment than a traditional hotel, which is exactly what makes it special.
The Neighborhood Feel
Città Studi isn’t where most tourists end up, but that’s actually a good thing. You’re surrounded by university students and locals going about their daily lives — there’s a genuine energy here that you won’t find near the Duomo. The area has plenty of cafes and trattorias where you can grab an espresso without paying tourist prices, and the metro connections are solid (Lambrate station is your friend for getting into the center). It’s maybe a 20-minute ride to the main sights, but you get to experience Milan like someone who actually lives here.
The Space
Each room feels more like a studio apartment than a hotel room — there’s real living space here, not just a bed squeezed between walls. The modern furnishings are clean and functional, and I mean that in the best way possible. You’ve got a proper kitchenette setup if you want to grab groceries from the local market and make your own breakfast (the coffee situation alone makes this worthwhile). The bathrooms are compact but well-designed, and the Wi-Fi actually works reliably throughout the building.
What You’ll Actually Use
The building doesn’t have a traditional restaurant or flashy amenities, but that’s not really the point here. There’s parking available, which anyone who’s tried to drive in Milan will appreciate. The real advantage is having space to spread out and the freedom to come and go as you please — no hovering concierge or rigid breakfast hours. The staff is helpful when you need them but otherwise lets you do your own thing, which feels refreshingly normal after staying at more buttoned-up places.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t where you come for marble lobbies or rooftop pools. Primopiano – Bardelli works because it gives you an authentic slice of Milanese life without the tourist markup. The value is excellent for what you get — real space, a functioning kitchen, and a neighborhood location that lets you experience the city beyond the obvious attractions. You’ll probably end up chatting with students at the corner bar or discovering that perfect little bakery two blocks over. It’s the kind of place where you feel like a temporary local rather than just another visitor passing through.
Locals suggest to book apartments in Milan around Porta Romana for vintage markets, trattoria spots, and tree-lined avenues.

Reviews of Primopiano – Bardelli
Last minute booking – okay to stay for a few days – Aarya from India – 18 October 2025 (8/10)
As everyone said – it was close to the metro.. the tourist spots were a bit further away like 20mins but we're easily accessible by the metro. The place had almost everything that an apartment needs.
There is a pizzeria at the corner that serves delicious food..
What could be improved: I would highlight a few points below.
Getting the key, a bit complicated.. even though we were able to retrieve it. I guess can be made simpler..
The apartment didn't have any adapters. I had to work on an important work project but without the adapter I was not able to connect. Don't get me wrong, I live in Switzerland so I didn't expect to have this issue and didnt carry any myself.. Luckily we heard the neighbors going in with grocery and we asked for help. They helped us. So a very big thank you to them.
The apartment bathroom didn't have any soap. There was just a shampoo bottle which I guess was left by the previous occupant. Would have at least expected that..
The heaters were off. So as the day set in.. It got pretty cold at night, especially the floor it was ice cold.. But we had warm blankets so it was okay..
Overall a good stayPleasant – Yujiro from Spain – 11 September 2025 (6/10)
The location is good. Apartment is not new but comfortable to stay in.
What could be improved: The property allows you to check out not later than 10 am. It is unacceptable. And it is not dissussible the app does not give other options. This should be agreed upfront. To say more they switched wi fi off at 09.30.Exceptional – Flavia from Romania – 1 August 2025 (10/10)
It was truly an amazing accommodation, very spacious, could easily fit 4 people, everything was clean, the kitchen had everything you needed, the check in was really easy to make and the hosts responded quick whenever we had questions. the location was amazing near train and subway station, 10 minutes to duomo by the subway, and the neighbourhood was really safe and quiet. we will for sure come back
Exceptional – Viktor from Serbia – 10 July 2025 (10/10)
Self check in, close to metro
What could be improved: No air condition, only fanThe best apartment with super location. – Ольга from Ukraine – 3 June 2025 (10/10)
The location of the apartment is super convenient. The best thing is that the metro station is just round the corner, this is the green line and several stops from Milano Centrale (the main station where you come from the airport). There is a supermarket nearby, pharmacy and whatever you need. The apartment inside is really cosy and has everything you need for a comfortable staying in Milan ( hairdryer, iron, oven). All the necessary stuff for cooking. And one more advantage is that it is in the really quiet neighbourhood.
What could be improved: Everything. It was definitely a good choice super easy check-in, all the instructions were clear and up tothe point.Dla Europejczyków-polecam wziąć swoje przejściówki bo tam są dwie. – Natalia from Poland – 8 April 2025 (7/10)

Very good – Joselito from United Arab Emirates – 16 October 2024 (8/10)
Very clean with plenty supplies of toiletries and clean towels.
We were able to cooked our meals, thanks to the property's full kitchen set ups with all the kitchen utensils!
What could be improved: There are a few issues, like water leaks in the bathroom and the electric fan is not working, but the staff managed to fix them after a few follow-ups.Roomy apartment close to metro – Viivi from Finland – 25 September 2024 (9/10)
Very roomy and comfortable bed. Great location and staff was very attentive
What could be improved: As with many apartment style properties, it would be nice to have some basic necessities in the kitchen (ex. Oil and salt).I recommend it to all – Saidanvar from Germany – 8 August 2024 (10/10)
Everything was perfect😊
Good – Emilia from Poland – 27 June 2024 (7/10)
Close to the metro station. It is okey and clean, proportional prize to quality, but rather for one night than a longer state.
What could be improved: The apartment is quite old and there is not a lot of light inside, there is also a specific smell inside.
