First Impressions

You know what caught me off guard about PrimoPiano – Fogazzaro? It’s tucked away on this quiet residential street in Porta Vittoria, and honestly, if you weren’t looking for it, you’d probably walk right past. The entrance is understated in that effortlessly Italian way — no flashy signs or marble lobbies, just this elegant simplicity that immediately tells you the owners get it.

Location & Neighborhood

I’ll be straight with you — Porta Vittoria isn’t the tourist-heavy center of Milan, but that’s exactly why I loved staying here. You’re living like locals do, with neighborhood cafés where the barista actually remembers your order by day three. The Metro’s a short walk away (Porta Vittoria station, naturally), and you can reach the Duomo in about fifteen minutes. Plus, there’s this fantastic morning market nearby where I’d grab fresh fruit and watch Milanese nonnas haggle over tomatoes.

The Apartment Experience

This four-star place feels more like borrowing a friend’s gorgeous apartment than staying at a traditional hotel. My room — well, it was really more like a studio — had this beautiful parquet flooring and windows that actually opened wide (you’d be surprised how rare that is in Milan). The kitchenette was compact but functional, with everything you’d need to make morning coffee or store those amazing Italian pastries you’ll inevitably buy too many of.

The Details That Matter

What really impressed me was how thoughtfully everything was designed. The Wi-Fi actually worked everywhere (miracle!), the shower had proper water pressure, and there was enough parking space in the area if you’re crazy enough to drive in Milan. The staff — and I use that term loosely because it feels more like helpful neighbors — were genuinely knowledgeable about the city. They pointed me toward this incredible little trattoria three blocks away that I never would’ve found otherwise.

Why Guests Love It

Look, if you want marble lobbies and concierge service, this isn’t your place. But if you want to experience Milan like someone who actually lives here, PrimoPiano – Fogazzaro nails it completely. I mean, I felt comfortable enough to leave my laptop out, comfortable enough to chat with other guests in the common areas, and — this might sound weird — comfortable enough to do laundry and meal prep like I was home. That 8.7 rating makes perfect sense once you realize this place isn’t trying to be something it’s not.

Napisałem wiadomość bo Obslugi, O 10:03 była Pani od sprzątania a wiadomość otrzymałem o 10:25 że mogę zostać do 11:00.

  Good location, tram station is near and you can be at the city centre in 10-15 minutes. The apartment is small, but everything you need is there. It's clean and comfortable. You can cook your own meals in the kitchen.
  
  What could be improved: The bed was a bit creaking and it would be great to have one small wardrobe more or a hanger for coats and jackets at the entrance, but it was not so big problem for us.
