PrimoPiano – Gargano Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to PrimoPiano – Gargano, I’ll be honest — it doesn’t scream “hotel” from the street. Tucked into a residential building on Via Gargano in the Ripamonti Corvetto area, it feels more like you’re visiting someone’s well-appointed apartment than checking into a traditional four-star place. The entrance is understated, which I actually found refreshing after dealing with some of the more touristy spots closer to the Duomo.
Location Reality Check
Here’s the thing about staying in this part of Milan — you’re not going to stumble out your door and bump into the Galleria. The Ripamonti Corvetto neighborhood is pretty residential, which means you’ll get a feel for how actual Milanese people live. There’s a decent Metro connection (Corvetto station isn’t too far), and honestly, I found the 20-minute ride into the center gave me time to plan my day. Plus, there’s parking available, which is basically gold if you’re driving in Milan.
The Space Itself
What surprised me most was how the room felt more like a mini-apartment than a hotel setup. The design leans modern without being cold — think clean lines but with enough personality that you don’t feel like you’re in a corporate box. The kitchenette is actually functional (not just for show), which came in handy when I grabbed groceries from the local market. You know what I appreciated? Decent storage space and a workspace that didn’t feel like an afterthought.
Neighborhood Discoveries
The area grows on you, especially if you venture beyond just sleeping here. There’s this little restaurant about three blocks away that serves incredible risotto — definitely not a tourist trap since I was the only non-Italian there most evenings. The morning coffee bar downstairs from the hotel makes a proper cappuccino, and the guy behind the counter actually remembered my order by day three. It’s these small details that made the stay feel less anonymous than some of the bigger hotels I’ve tried in Milan.
Why It Works
Look, PrimoPiano – Gargano isn’t going to wow you with a grand lobby or concierge in white gloves. What it does offer is a solid base in Milan that feels genuine rather than manufactured for tourists. The 8.3 rating makes sense — it’s well-run, comfortable, and you’re getting good value without paying centro storico prices. If you want to experience Milan like you’re temporarily living there rather than just passing through, this place delivers on that promise pretty well.

Reviews of PrimoPiano – Gargano
Very good – Ines from Croatia – 27 October 2025 (8/10)
As for the entrance upon arrival, pray that someone shows up because the glass front door is locked! No one answers the phone number after 4 p.m., even though it says it’s for emergencies — and we arrived at 11:30 p.m. Once you’re inside, there’s no problem since the key is waiting for you in the apartment.
The apartment itself is functional, though a bit worn out — it could use some refreshing and a new coat of paint.
As for the bathroom, you’re not quite sure whether you’re in a hospital or in accommodation.
The bed is extremely comfortable!
It’s generally quite peaceful and quiet — except when one of the neighbors throws a party (we happened to be there on a weekend).
There’s a tram stop about 10 minutes from the apartment that takes you to the Duomo, and a larger grocery store about 3–4 minutes away.Very good – Elizaveta from Germany – 21 July 2025 (8/10)
The apartment is nice and spacious, you have everything you need
What could be improved: The area is not the best. It’s a bit too far from the city centre (accessible by public transport though) + I didn’t feel safe walking there at nightComfortable stay in Milan’s suburbs – Dang from Sweden – 4 June 2025 (8/10)
The facility is clean and comfortable.
The area is quiet.
What could be improved: The location is a bit far from city center, but manageable with bus and tram connection to the nearest metro station.
Window shadow is little hard to put up.Good – Vestergaard from Denmark – 20 May 2025 (7/10)
Nice place
What could be improved: Could have been a little bit more clean, was some stains on the walls, and the colored pictures over the bed were hanging skewed, not like in the picture.
But minor details, all in all very good.Highly recommend – Miljana from Serbia – 24 February 2025 (10/10)
Better than we expected, it had everything we needed. There is a supermarket nearby, as well as a bus stop and a tram stop. Clean, safe, comfortable. Fully equipped kitchen, hairdryer, washing machine, iron. Warm.
Exceptional – Barbara from Croatia – 29 November 2024 (10/10)
Everything was great. The apartment was clean, and we had everything we needed. The entrance with the code was super easy (I was skeptical about it because I had read some of the comments, but we had no problems entering the building or apartment). Communication was also quick and easy. The apartment is farther from the center but not too far. We found free parking spots around the building, which was great. Overall, great value for the money.
Pleasant stay in Milan – Stefany from Estonia – 5 February 2024 (8/10)
A pleasant stay for the price that we paid. The kitchen came in very useful!
What could be improved: Needed a bit of planning and time to get into the city center by public transport.Nice appartment 30 min from duomo – Daniel from Italy – 29 October 2023 (10/10)
Clean and newly furnished apartment close to the city center in a quiet neighborhood. Has all amenities for cooking.
What could be improved: Make sure that your check out time is as you mention in their survey. I said that I plan to check out at 9am and the cleaning lady came at 9:30 am. So, it is not an approximate check out 😅Good enough – Αγγελος from Greece – 15 August 2023 (8/10)
Very spacious room
What could be improved: There were many mosquitoes and no way to get rid of them and we couldn’t unlock easily the door outside the buildingI enjoyed it. For the price it’s really great. – Klárka from Czech Republic – 20 February 2023 (9/10)
Really nice, clean and comfy apartment. Kitchen furnished even with moccha kettle.
What could be improved: The manual to getting the keys was usinat picture of another codebox and I got in only because someone opened the door for me. Also getting out of the main door was complicated like a strategy game.
