UNA Hotels Galles Milano Overview

First Impressions

Walking into UNA Hotels Galles Milano, you immediately sense this isn’t your typical chain hotel — there’s something distinctly Milanese about the place that feels both polished and approachable. The lobby has this warm, contemporary elegance that doesn’t try too hard, and honestly, after dragging luggage through Milan‘s busy streets, it’s exactly the kind of welcoming atmosphere you want to see.

Location That Actually Works

Here’s what I love about the location on Piazza Lima — you’re literally steps from Porta Garibaldi station, which means you can zip around the city without dealing with taxis or figuring out bus routes. The Corso Buenos Aires shopping district is right there too, and I mean right there — you’ll probably end up wandering those streets whether you planned to shop or not. It’s one of those spots where you feel connected to the real Milan, not tucked away in some tourist bubble.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in had this smart, modern design that maximized space without feeling cramped — something that’s actually pretty rare in Milan hotels. The bed was genuinely comfortable (not just hotel-speak comfortable), and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that actually works properly. You know what impressed me most though? The soundproofing — for a four-star hotel in such a central location, the rooms stay surprisingly quiet even with all the city activity outside.

Dining and Daily Rhythms

The on-site restaurant serves solid Italian fare, though honestly, with Milan’s incredible food scene right outside your door, I found myself eating there mainly for breakfast. Speaking of breakfast — it’s that perfect balance of Italian classics and international options that doesn’t overwhelm you with choices but gives you what you actually want to eat. The coffee is proper Italian coffee, which sounds obvious but you’d be surprised how many hotels mess this up.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets this place apart is how it gets the details right without making a big show of it. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood and will point you toward that little aperitivo spot locals actually go to, not just the touristy places. The whole experience feels authentically Milanese — professional, stylish, but never pretentious. For travelers who want to feel like they’re staying somewhere with real character while still having all the modern comforts, this hits that sweet spot perfectly.

Reviews of UNA Hotels Galles Milano

  • Great – Sue from United States – 17 November 2025 (9/10)

Location and nice breakfast. Staff helpful area felt safe

What could be improved: Should offer water in lobby all days

  • Superb – Fouad from Lebanon – 16 November 2025 (9/10)

I enjoyed the stay in UNA as usual, great location close to the market and the train station, has a metro station right next to the entrance door, great staff, delicious breakfast, safe place .

  • Nice hotel with SPA – Julien from France – 8 November 2025 (9/10)

Rooftop, SPA, breakfast, welcoming staff, hôtel style

What could be improved: Extra for breakfast are pricey.
Lockers in SPA area was broken.
Hot water for the in SPA area can be empty.
There is not enough informations about massages in SPA and Gym areas or online (like pricing and how to reserve, I could have been more motivated to chek it if the information was easely available)

  • Great location VERY close to Metro station – Joan from Italy – 26 October 2025 (9/10)

Great location steps from the Piazza Lima metro station. Rooms, breakfast, service, staff were all good. I enjoyed watching the "hustle and bustle" of Piazza Lima from our window.

What could be improved: Parking was a bit confusing, especially because there was construction underway in front of the hotel on Corso Buenos Aires. Hint: Pull up to the lobby on Via Federico Ozanam, go inside to check in, unload luggage and get directions to the parking.

  • Pool Is Way To Cold To Be Used! – Jennifer from United States – 21 October 2025 (8/10)

The facility itself is clean, well-run, and the staff were friendly. They were accommodating and helpful, and the location is central with nice views from my windows of a pretty square. They moved to a room further back from the street which helped with the city noise. For the most part had a good experience with the hotel except for the pool.

What could be improved: The spa/pool complex is nice but the temperature of the indoor pool was extremely cold. Hotel sign claimed it was in the 80's which guests could verify by a thermometer provided. But, there was no thermometer, and if I had to guess, the pool was more likely in the 70's.

I saw guests come and go – initially excited to come use the pool only to find its temperature too cold for comfort. Assume the Hotel has received complaints before, so their sign stated they are adhering to "Olympic regulations" which is inappropriate standard given its purpose. This pool is too small for training or vigorous movement, and is too cold to stay in if you are still. The indoor pool was the main reason I booked, so I was extremely disappointed. They have saunas, but don't book here if you are hoping to have access to a nice indoor pool.

  • Very good – Megan from United States – 13 October 2025 (8/10)

The hotel was really nice. It was clean, the rooms were huge.

What could be improved: The location was not great.. I mean maybe it's just Milan in general. But very busy and loud. There was a street concert going on until 12:30am!!!.. even with the doors/windows closed you could hear music blasting. Not ideal for an early wake up to catch our flight.

  • Very good – Antonios from Greece – 6 October 2025 (8/10)

Location and breakfast (except perhaps the bacon :/ ) were great . It is located literally next to a metro station , which helped us a lot . Room is nothing to write home about, but it is clean and quiet. A pretty nice bonus of the hotel is that it has a pool , gym, spa etc. . Staff was friendly and helpful too .

What could be improved: A bit overpriced I would say , but if you find only hotels with similar prices then this is a really nice one . The safety part of the pool / spa could be better , as the locks on the lockers didn´t work . I know there are cameras everywhere and it´s hard for someone to get away with theft , but still , since the locks are there , why not repair them and be even safer ?

  • Good hotel in a good location although expensive – Isabel from Portugal – 4 October 2025 (8/10)

A hotel with good location, rooms comfortable

What could be improved: To expensive

  • Superb – Pavel from Israel – 23 September 2025 (9/10)

Good location, close to train station and metro

  • Superb – Janine from New Zealand – 16 September 2025 (9/10)

Very handy location to the railway station, is also V close to the Metro system.
The breakfast was really good and included in the price.
The location, in via Buenos Aries was handy to restaurant, pasticeria and osteria options.
Their rooftop bar has a great view across the City although the access is a little clunky and not really available for those with mobility challenges.

What could be improved: Nothing major. See comment re rooftop bar above
