PrimoPiano – Inama Overview

First Impressions

PrimoPiano – Inama sits on a quiet residential street in Milan, and honestly, you might walk right past it if you’re not paying attention. It’s tucked into a converted building that feels more like stepping into someone’s well-appointed home than a typical hotel. The entrance is understated — no flashy signage or doormen — which I actually found refreshing after dealing with the usual tourist traps around the city center.

The Neighborhood Feel

Via Vigilio Inama runs through Porta Garibaldi, which means you’re in one of Milan’s more authentic neighborhoods without being stuck in the middle of nowhere. There’s a small grocery store literally around the corner, and I noticed locals doing their evening shopping there — always a good sign. The Porta Garibaldi train station is about a 10-minute walk, so getting to the Duomo or other main attractions is pretty straightforward, but you’re far enough away that you won’t hear tourist groups at all hours.

The Room Experience

My room was on the second floor (which, you know, makes sense given the name PrimoPiano), and it had this cozy, almost apartment-like vibe. The space isn’t huge — this is Milan, after all — but it’s thoughtfully laid out with decent storage and a small seating area by the window. The bathroom was modern enough, though the shower pressure could be better. What I really appreciated was how quiet everything was; the street doesn’t get much traffic, so I actually slept well despite being a light sleeper.

Daily Practicalities

The staff runs this three-star place with a personal touch — they remembered my name after the first day and gave solid recommendations for nearby restaurants. There’s no fancy restaurant on-site, but they do serve a simple continental breakfast in a small dining area that feels like eating in someone’s kitchen. The WiFi worked fine for my work calls, and there’s basic parking available if you’re driving, though honestly, you won’t need a car to get around from here.

Why Guests Love It

Look, PrimoPiano – Inama isn’t trying to be something it’s not. It’s a solid, no-nonsense place to stay when you want to experience Milan like a local rather than a tourist. The 7.1 rating makes sense — it’s not perfect, but it delivers on what it promises. You’re paying for a real neighborhood experience, decent comfort, and staff who actually care about making your stay work. If you need a rooftop bar or marble bathrooms, look elsewhere, but if you want to feel like you’re staying in Milan rather than just visiting it, this place gets it right.

Savvy travelers reserve a hotel in Milan before spring brings wisteria blooms, design installations, and warm evening breezes.

Reviews of PrimoPiano – Inama

  • the studio apartment is perfect one to two persons but the airconditioning was not working however t – Hayat from Italy – 16 September 2025 (8/10)

the studio apartment is perfect one to two persons.

What could be improved: The airconditioning was not working however there were two fans and weather was good so i worked.

  • Location is good. – Laura from United Kingdom – 8 March 2025 (6/10)

    Location

What could be improved: The boiler is small and doesn’t allow comfortable time in the shower, I prefer it hot. The light of the main room cannot be switched off from the bedroom meaning you might have to get upstairs in the dark. Costumer service rude.

  • Pleasant – Yevgeniy from Austria – 17 March 2024 (6/10)

    Location ok.

What could be improved: Opening door by call did't work. Was some issue. Key from first door was finally in locker outdoor.

  • Pleasant – Daria from Portugal – 11 October 2023 (6/10)

What could be improved: Mattresses on the bed are in very bad condition. They are leaning to the centre of the bed on both sides and you keep falling inside during the sleep. It’s very uncomfortable 😟

The blue line that goes to the apartment is closed after 10pm so you can only used different buses. Be aware

  • Very good – Ha from Germany – 4 August 2023 (8/10)

The facilities are really great. really recommended

  • Everything is great except location – Марина from Belarus – 1 August 2023 (8/10)

Completely like a your own flat with all the devices

    What could be improved: Location
    Far from the city center

  • Great value – Abigail from United Kingdom – 17 June 2023 (7/10)

Value for money, telly had Netflix, good size fridge and kitchen for a studio apartment. Bus just round corner – good as my daughter didn't want to walk that much in the sun.

What could be improved: Don't drop any food on floor without cleaning it up as ants did come out. But it's a hot country so I don't think that's unusual, just keep it clean.
It says intercom is favelo but it doesn't work and food delivery driver shouted at me cos it didn't work! 🤷🙄
Street can be noisy but fine with earplugs.

  • Good – Sarah from Slovakia – 20 April 2023 (7/10)

Everything was clean , location near bus stop but quite far from the city centre … near the apartment are shops, restaurants, cafeterias ….I can only recommended … thanks

What could be improved: One thing that was bothering us was noise from the outside …

  • Good – Guillaume from France – 11 April 2023 (7/10)

What could be improved: the broken A/C, the fact the window on pictures but not in the appartement, and the lack of precision of the upstairs ceiling’s heigh

  • Ok – Andrada from Romania – 20 March 2023 (7/10)

It was clean and we had all the facilities we needed.

What could be improved: The noise was TERRIBLE. You were hearing everything that was happening outside. I think the apartment was probably an old storage unit transformed into a duplex.
