PrimoPiano – Melzo A Overview
First Impressions
PrimoPiano – Melzo A sits on a quiet residential street in Milan, and honestly, you might walk past it if you’re not paying attention. It’s tucked into a converted building that feels more like stepping into someone’s thoughtfully designed apartment than a traditional hotel. The entrance is understated — no flashy lobby or marble floors — but that’s actually part of its charm.
The Neighborhood Feel
Via Melzo runs through one of those areas where actual Milanese people live and work, not just the tourist zones. You’ll find a handful of local cafés within a few blocks, and there’s this great little bakery about five minutes away where the morning cornetti are still warm. The Porta Garibaldi district is walkable from here, which means you can get to the business areas pretty easily, but you’re also close enough to the Navigli canals for evening drinks.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in felt spacious for Milan standards — and trust me, space is precious in this city. What struck me was how they managed to fit in a proper kitchenette without making everything feel cramped. The design leans modern but not cold, with decent lighting that actually works for reading or getting ready in the morning. The bathroom was clean and functional, though don’t expect anything fancy — this is a three-star place, after all.
Practical Details
The staff here are genuinely helpful without being overly formal. When I needed directions to a specific address, the person at reception actually drew me a little map showing which metro stops to avoid during rush hour. Parking can be tricky in this area — there’s street parking but it fills up quickly, so I’d recommend asking about nearby garages when you book. The wifi worked reliably, which isn’t always a given in older Milan buildings.
Why Guests Love It
Look, PrimoPiano – Melzo A isn’t trying to be something it’s not. It’s a solid, well-maintained place where you can actually settle in for a few days without feeling like you’re camping out in a hotel room. The kitchenette means you can grab groceries from the Esselunga down the street and have breakfast at your own pace. For the price point in Milan, you’re getting good value — especially if you prefer staying somewhere that feels connected to how people actually live in the city rather than in the touristy center.
Milan’s apartments welcome long stays with terrace views, museum access, and bike paths to hidden Leonardo da Vinci sites.

Reviews of PrimoPiano – Melzo A
Good – Ivelina from Bulgaria – 3 November 2025 (7/10)
The apartment is in a great location and was very clean.
What could be improved: The room was quite cold, around 18–19°C, and there were no remotes for the air conditioner or heater, so we couldn’t adjust the temperature. In addition, the bed was almost broken.Very good – Ioana from Romania – 9 May 2025 (8/10)
The location is great, the apartment has all the facilities written on booking.
What could be improved: We didn’t like the pillows, they were very unconfortable. The room is not for the ones that have a lot of expectations, but is good for a few nights in Milano.Perfect stay! Expect for the AC that we couldn't adjust the temperature but everything is good. – May from Croatia – 17 January 2025 (8/10)
My husband and I both love the location, as it is very accessible to restaurants and metro. We are very satisfied also how the host assisted us, especially by providing us the informations how to get there & how to get inside the apartment. She still assisted us though I replied very late to her emails. Thank you so much! Two thumbs up guys, Ms Clara 👍
What could be improved: It would have been better to sleep if room is a bit warmer, its just that we couldn't find the control of the AC so we couldn't adjust the temperature specifically during night time.Pleasant – Holly from Ireland – 26 June 2024 (6/10)
The room was nice and had a oven and washing machine
What could be improved: We were on the top floor, which wasn’t the worst but you could hear everything even from the bottom floor, we where never told that that would be construction out the back which wasn’t ideal as the curtain are completely see through at the window which meant the construction workers could see straight into our room we had to put a towel over the curtain at all times, there was a window in the shower it was small but again the workers could see straight through. Our original home check out was 11:00, I had emailed them looking for a later checkout because our flight was late, then responded with changing our checkout time to 10:30Good – Kateryna from Ukraine – 19 June 2024 (7/10)
The bed has been replaced and is very comfortable. area near bars and cafes
What could be improved: unbearable boiler noise, construction noise, no curtains or blinds, if you don't have an EU phone number it will be difficult to check inGood – Matko from Croatia – 7 April 2024 (7/10)
Location was excellent. Near market and metro station.
What could be improved: Heating boiler in the apartment was very loud, and it was turning on very often. It was a good stay apart from the sofa bed. – Gina from United Kingdom – 6 November 2023 (8/10)
Near the shopping centres.
What could be improved: Sorry to say but the sofa bed. It goes deep in the middle when sleeping or lying in bed. I develop backache.Very good – Anastasia from Greece – 28 October 2023 (8/10)
the room was clean and the location good and next to metro
What could be improved: The room at night was cold and when we arrived at
The air bnb we had problem to go inside the apartment..Very good – Rosemary from United Kingdom – 12 June 2023 (8/10)
Great location. Apartment is basic but has everything you need for a weekend city break.
What could be improved: The apartment could use a little bit of maintenance. Some of the lights were flashing and the radiator in the bathroom has seen better days.Very good – Stefan from Romania – 14 March 2023 (8/10)
Good location, very close to the city center. Check in easy to do. You have a metro station / tram near you.
What could be improved: The only bad thing îs the bed… Good to sleep but when you turn around or move makes a lot of noise so it's disturbing…
