Walking into Omodeo, 19 – Ampio e panoramico, I’ll be honest — it’s not trying to be something it isn’t. This three-star place in San Siro has that refreshingly straightforward Italian approach where comfort trumps flash every time. The name literally translates to “spacious and panoramic,” and you know what? They actually deliver on that promise.

The Neighborhood Feel

San Siro isn’t your typical tourist zone, which is exactly why I ended up liking it. You’re in a proper Milanese residential area where locals actually live and work — there’s something genuine about grabbing your morning coffee alongside people heading to their regular jobs. The famous stadium is close by, sure, but this isn’t some sports-obsessed district. It’s just real Milan, with tree-lined streets and that lived-in feeling you don’t get in the city center.

The Space Itself

The apartment setup here really works if you’re staying more than a couple nights. I mean, having an actual kitchen where you can store groceries and make coffee the way you like it — that’s worth something. The panoramic views they mention? Yeah, they’re actually there, especially if you catch the evening light hitting the buildings just right. The room feels properly spacious, not like those cramped city center places where you’re bumping into furniture every time you turn around.

Getting Around

Here’s the thing about staying in San Siro — you’ll need to factor in transit time to the main sights. But honestly, the metro connections aren’t bad once you get the hang of it, and there’s something nice about coming back to a quieter neighborhood after a day of tourist crowds. Parking is actually possible here too, which anyone who’s driven in Milan will tell you is practically a miracle. The local buses run regularly, and I found myself walking more than I expected just because the streets are pleasant.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t the place for your Instagram-perfect Milan getaway. But if you want space to spread out, a proper place to cook when you’re tired of restaurant meals, and that authentic neighborhood experience, it works really well. The 7.5 rating makes sense — it’s solid without being spectacular. You’ll sleep well, have room to breathe, and probably spend less than you would cramming into some tiny boutique place in Brera. Sometimes that’s exactly what a trip needs.

  It was in a reasonable location for the San siro. The living area was decent.
  
  What could be improved: We did know there was no air con but we really didn’t prepare ourselves for how hot that was going to make it. It was unbearable in the double bedroom especially ( even though there was some sort of fan unit in there but it just cooled the little square of air around it. The rest of the room was like a sauna ). Therefore I wouldn’t consider coming here in the summer months.
  
  There was a gas detection alarm going off when we arrived. I messaged the property ( to be fair this was late evening ) but didn’t receive a response until past 10 am the next day. Given the severity of the issue – ie potential gas leak , we did feel unsafe and had to have the windows open (hence making the place even hotter ) and we were surprised to not get a faster response.
  
  The general cleanliness seemed ok however there were some cleanliness issues – one was there was something wrong with the bath where it ended up covered in little flies / fleas every day. The other issue would have been ways to solve and was the fact that the sponges left for cleaning plates etc were absolutely disgusting. Given it would cost a few cents to change this I suggest changing this.
  
  There were a few other issues and the management seemed generally slow to respond.
  
  I realise this review sounds bad and it wasn’t horrific , but the issues that there were , were bad enough ( especially the gas leak and their reponse to this ) to seriously impact our stay.

  The location, close to the metro and in a quiet neighbourhood, was great. And the apartment was very spacious and comfortable, with all that is needed for a short and pleasant stay.
  
  What could be improved: The facilities in the bathroom are quite outdated, for example the tap could not fully be closed and it was dripping at all times. The toilet seat is partially loose and one could easily slip while setting. And the shower/bath does not drain well at all so the water stays there for quite some time.
  
  There were also some things that were not really clean: some dishes and mugs we found were still a bit dirty (not like used but like badly washed) and there was some residues in the fridge. Lastly, some bedsheets–though clean–were stained in a way that made them look dirty and thus not so nice.

  Przestronne mieszkanie dla 5 osób idealne. Blisko stacji metra (5 minut na piechote) i stadionu San Siro ( ok 20 minut na piechotę). Czysto. Wygodne łóżka , sieć Wifi ok.
  
  What could be improved: Brak czegokolwiek w kuchni: kawy, herbaty nawet cukru i soli. Nic poza sprzętami, garnkami i zmywarka – ale bez kostek do mycia.

  The location of the apartment was convenient and close to the metro station. The apartment is located in a safe and quiet area.
  
  What could be improved: Our stay was during August! Not recommended at all unless you're willing to get sick due to the high levels of heat and with no air conditioning system. We knew while reading about the facilities that there is no AC, yet we didn't imagine that the level if heat is soo high especially that the apartment is on the 13th floor which is in the heart of the sun! We couldn't sleep and our stay was for 2 weeks and it was not refundable. We tried to communicate this to the owner and asked for a small portable cooler but he was so offended and said: "I am not willing to pay hundreds of euros on such a thing, I can only provide you with extra fan". Which honestly didn't do the job as we were 4 people, let alone that there was no window fly screen and the mosquitos ate as alive! We stayed 4 days without a coffee machine and the maintenance guy passed by 2 times to fix it and it didn't work. They finally got us a new one after 4 days. Not sure of the status of the apartment during winter though, I tried it during summer and it was bad. we got really sick due to the high levels of heat.
