PrimoPiano – Pellegrino Rossi B Overview
First Impressions
PrimoPiano – Pellegrino Rossi B sits on a quiet residential street in Milan’s Isola district, and honestly, you might walk right past it if you’re not paying attention. The building itself is understated — sort of refreshingly normal after seeing so many overly designed hotel facades. It’s a three-star place that doesn’t try to be something it’s not, which I actually appreciated from the moment I walked in.
The Neighborhood Feel
Via Pellegrino Rossi is one of those streets that feels properly Milanese — you know, where actual locals live and work. The Isola area has this great mix of old-school Italian charm and newer energy, especially since the Porta Garibaldi business district is just a short walk away. I mean, you’re close enough to reach the Duomo in about 20 minutes by metro, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with tourist crowds every time you step outside.
The Space Itself
The room I stayed in was clean and functional — nothing fancy, but everything worked properly. What struck me was how well-maintained everything felt despite the building’s age. The apartment-style setup means you get a bit more space to spread out than your typical hotel room, which matters when you’re staying for more than just a night or two. The kitchenette was basic but had what you’d need for simple meals, though honestly, with Milan’s food scene right outside, I barely used it.
Practical Matters
Getting around from here is straightforward — the Isola metro station connects you to both the green and purple lines, so you’re well-connected to wherever you need to go. The staff speaks decent English and they’re helpful without being overly formal about it. Wi-Fi worked fine throughout my stay, which isn’t always a given in older buildings. There’s no on-site restaurant, but that’s not really an issue when you’ve got authentic trattorias and cafes scattered around the neighborhood.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t going to wow you with fancy amenities or Instagram-worthy interiors, but PrimoPiano delivers on the basics really well. The 7.8 rating makes sense — it’s the kind of place that works particularly well for travelers who want a genuine slice of Milanese life without paying premium prices for designer everything. You’re staying in a real neighborhood, getting solid value, and you’ll probably end up discovering some great local spots just by wandering around. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want from a Milan stay.

Very good location. Spacious apartment.
What could be improved: There was a problem with one of the AC remotes but this was resolved quite quickly.Good – Tiberius from Romania – 25 July 2025 (8/10)
Close to subway, clean and big bathroom
Clean, great location – Lela from Georgia – 19 July 2025 (10/10)

Perfect ! – Gokay from Turkey – 1 February 2025 (8/10)
There are very close 3 different market and one of them is very big. Kitchen was very good and got everything you need. Subway was so close you can reach everywhere in Milan.
What could be improved: Bedroom was cold and tv does’nt work.Very good – Bojan from Serbia – 6 December 2024 (8/10)
Clean, great location, 100m from metro station and big market.
What could be improved: Everything was fine except to many light switches. It is very confusing, because each room has 3-10 switches for different lights.Good – Osiolkowa94 from Poland – 12 June 2024 (7/10)
What could be improved: There was no warm water in the evening and morning. The owner did not manage to solve the problem on time, so we couldn't take a shower.
Very good – Luka from Croatia – 27 March 2024 (8/10)
Very close to metro, supermarket is literally next door and another one is 50 meters down the road. Close by there is also bakery, several cafe bars, and many other cool little shops. The area is generally quiet. The apartment is spacious, nice beds, and good kitchen. Bathroom is small but cozy, and the shower is really nice.
What could be improved: There were no additional blankets or sheets in the apartment, although they werent needed because it wasn't that cold. Also you can smell the odour from old apartment from time to time, especially with closed windows, but it's usually gone when opening the windows for a few minutes.Beautiful location, pleasant stay – Andreea from Romania – 19 March 2024 (9/10)
The place was super close to the metro station and we found it easily. We also managed to enter the apartment easily by following the instructions. Inside it was clean, we had all necessary items and the space was overall very pleasant.
What could be improved: If the place is not aired, there is an unpleasant smell to it, but this can be solved by opening the windows for a few minutes.Good – Marlena from Romania – 7 March 2024 (7/10)
The property is one minute away from the subway station and a very good supermarket and 15 minutes away from the railway. You can get anywhere in Milano in 30 minutes. Also, it's a big apartament with lots of storage space.
What could be improved: The apartament has an unpleasant, old smell that you can feel from the staircase. They don't provide slippers and there is no bathroom mat so your feet are constantly dirty. In the first day we had no hot water or heating and this is a problem I encountered in other primo piano locations.
