PrimoPiano – Ressi Overview

First Impressions

Walking into PrimoPiano – Ressi, you get the sense that this place operates on its own rhythm — and honestly, that’s part of its charm. It’s tucked away on a quiet side street in the Bicocca-Zara area, which means you’re not dealing with the tourist crowds that swarm central Milan. The building feels residential rather than commercial, like you’re staying at a well-kept family place rather than a corporate hotel chain.

Location and Getting Around

Here’s what I really appreciated about the location — you’re actually in a neighborhood where real Milanese people live and work. The Bicocca area has this interesting mix of university students (thanks to the nearby Bicocca campus) and young professionals. You’ll find genuine local cafés within walking distance, not the overpriced tourist traps you’d encounter near the Duomo. The metro connection isn’t bad either; you can reach the city center in about 20 minutes, which honestly beats fighting traffic in a taxi.

The Room Experience

My room was simple but thoughtfully put together — nothing flashy, but everything worked as it should. The bed was comfortable enough, and I mean that in the best way possible; sometimes these smaller places surprise you with better sleep than the big chains. The bathroom was compact but well-designed, with decent water pressure and proper lighting. What struck me was how quiet it was at night, considering you’re still in a major city.

Practical Details

This is a three-star property, so adjust your expectations accordingly — you’re not getting a spa or room service here. But what you do get is solid value for money in an expensive city like Milan. The staff genuinely seemed to care about making your stay work, which counts for a lot when you’re navigating a foreign city. Parking can be arranged, though like everywhere in Milan, it’s not exactly cheap.

Why Guests Love It

Look, PrimoPiano – Ressi won’t blow you away with luxury amenities or Instagram-worthy lobbies. What it offers is something increasingly rare — an authentic slice of Milan life without the inflated prices of the tourist zones. If you’re the type of traveler who prefers exploring real neighborhoods over checking items off a must-see list, this place makes perfect sense. You’re paying for location, cleanliness, and honest hospitality rather than marble lobbies and fancy branding.

Early hotels booking in Milan secures opera tickets, rooftop bar nights, and private Italian cooking class sessions.

  • Okay for budget. I know this area so I booked here but would not recommend for tourists. – Ye from Germany – 1 December 2024 (6/10)

check in was easy. this is apartment where people live. kitchen was well equipped.

What could be improved: parking lot was not available.

  • I recommend the accommodation to everyone. – Marko from Montenegro – 17 November 2024 (10/10)

  • Average – Ema_bg from Serbia – 6 November 2023 (8/10)

Everything is clean, it's close to the city centre, 10 min walk from metro. Kitchen have everything u need.

What could be improved: Everything is old, tv is very small, high level of humidity, very soft bed.

  • A decent stay – Swati from India – 7 October 2023 (7/10)

The apartment was spacious and in a good location which was accessible by bus and trams.

What could be improved: Check-in was tedious with very little support on the phone, the apartment had a weird smell, the AC was a portable one with a weird functioning which made a lot of noise all the time.

  • Good place to spend some days in Milan – Catalina from Germany – 21 August 2023 (8/10)

The place was in a good location, residential and not far away from the main station. The bedroom was big and you can use it also as dining room.

What could be improved: Nothing, in general everything was good.

  • Okay place for a couple to stay. – Miisa from Finland – 3 August 2023 (7/10)

It was a great place for two people. Aircondition was very useful. Bed was nice too. It was easy and useful to self check in at night. Great that u can walk to the subway station at all times. Shower temperature and pressure was good.

What could be improved: Our power cut off in the evening and we had to fix it ourselfs. It was pretty hard and the videos the owner send us were long and the right place in the basement was not very easy to find. Kitchen smells weird but that might just be normal in Italy. I also had some difficulties with the check in before coming. Paid the city tax 3 times. Had to call the owner 4 times of which 2 times they answered. After those phone calls it was fine and the extra money were returned.

  • Good – Soliman from Ireland – 30 May 2023 (7/10)

What could be improved: the shower hose was broken other than that everything was okay

  • Not bad – Thomas from France – 13 April 2023 (7/10)

    Location

What could be improved: The kitchen smells bad, it was cold and one shutter was broken

  • Quality responds to the price – Jan from Czech Republic – 26 January 2023 (7/10)

Pretty good for few days stay. Bed is very comfortable and apartment good equipped. In the kitchen you find everything you need – stove, oven, kettle, pots, pans, plates, glasses, cups, cuttlety and huge fridge.

What could be improved: If you are visiting during winter it might be cold here for you. Temperature is around 19°C but it is stated before on website and the duvet is quite thick. Not easy and comfortable showering. If you want warm water the stream is really weak. Also the toilet flushing cannot be fully closed – this should be repaired. Fridge is quite noisy.
