First Impressions

The room — well, it’s really a full apartment — surprised me with how thoughtfully everything was designed. You walk in and there’s this immediate sense that someone actually cares about the details. The kitchen isn’t just some afterthought with a mini-fridge and a hot plate; it’s properly equipped with everything you’d need if you wanted to cook a real meal. I mean, after a few days of eating out in Milan (which gets expensive fast), being able to grab groceries from the local market and make breakfast was honestly refreshing.

Location & Neighborhood Feel

Here’s what I really liked about the location — it’s in Isola, which has this great mix of being residential but still connected. You’re about a 15-minute metro ride from the Duomo, but the neighborhood itself has character. There are these little cafés where you’ll hear more Italian than English, and a couple of really solid restaurants within walking distance. The area feels safe to wander around at night, which isn’t something you can say about every part of Milan.

What Makes It Work

The 9.5 rating makes sense once you’ve stayed here — it’s that attention to small things that adds up. The WiFi actually works well (I was working remotely part of the time), the shower has proper water pressure, and the bed is comfortable without being too soft. For a four-star place, they’ve nailed that sweet spot between having everything you need without feeling overly fancy or stuffy. Plus, the host was responsive when I had a question about the heating system, which you don’t always get with apartment rentals.

Why Guests Love It

Look, if you want the full hotel experience with room service and a concierge, this isn’t your place. But if you’re looking for a clean, well-designed space where you can actually settle in for a few days and feel like you’re living in Milan rather than just visiting it, R39 delivers. The private parking alone saves you probably 20-25 euros a day, and having that extra space to spread out makes a difference, especially if you’re staying more than just a night or two. It’s one of those places that just works without any drama.

  Everything was wonderful. The place was clean, comfortable and the hosts were super kind, they helped us with anything we needed whenever we needed it. The neighbourhood felt safe, quiet and very close to the subway and destination we'd travelled for. Oh and in case you are booking for 3 people or don't want to share a bed, the sofa was actually comfortable too.

  Nothing but perfect from first moment to the very last one!
  Absolutely perfect apartament, quiet, perfectly clean, free private parking în the garage or the backyard, everything just perfect!
  The owners are so amazing people! Luca's father is a very kind and patient man, he waited for us at midnight (because we were pretty late after a long drive and already after 2-3 hours after the last check-in hour) and he explained us what we needed to know!
  Luca is also amazing, always in contact with us to be sure all the time that we are enjoying our stay and available for any question or, upon the case, request.

  The interior of the apartment looks brand new and it's fully equipped.
  The parking space for the car is convenient.
  The location is really good, the Metro station is 5 minute walk away and you can reach every part of the city with it easily.
  There is a really nice restaurant accross the street (closed on Wednesdays).

  If you are traveling by car and need secure parking spot and if cleaning is important for you. This is the place.
  Host was super welcoming and helpful. They are family and you can visit there with your family. They have secure parking slot. If you dont want to visit around with your car, just park there and use public transportation. (recommended) Metro is 900m close to the house. There are many place for eating around and there are public street bazaar one day of week.
  This was the one of the cleanest home in our visits. All apartment renovated and nicely designed.
  Internet speed was very good They also have netflix.
