First Impressions

RELSTAY – De Angeli caught me off guard in the best way possible. Walking up to this four-star property on Via Antonio Tolomeo Trivulzio, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from what looked like a pretty standard building from the outside. But once you step inside, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually thought about how travelers want to feel when they’re away from home.

Perfect Positioning

The location is honestly brilliant if you know Milan at all. You’re in the Fiera Milano – City Life district, which means you’re close enough to the action but far enough away that you can actually get some sleep. The metro connections here are solid — I could get to the Duomo in about 15 minutes, and when I needed to head to Malpensa, it wasn’t the usual nightmare journey you’d expect.

What I really appreciated was being walking distance from some genuine neighborhood spots. There’s this little bakery around the corner that locals actually go to, and the evening aperitivo scene nearby feels authentic rather than touristy.

The Space Itself

The room setup here is what sets RELSTAY apart, honestly. These aren’t your typical hotel rooms — they’re more like serviced apartments with actual space to spread out. My unit had a proper kitchenette (not just a mini-fridge and kettle), which meant I could grab fresh ingredients from the local market and actually cook something decent after long days of sightseeing.

The design feels modern but not sterile, you know? Clean lines, good lighting, and — this might sound small but it matters — enough electrical outlets in sensible places. The Wi-Fi actually worked properly throughout the space, which isn’t always a given even at well-rated places.

Daily Rhythms

Mornings here have a nice rhythm to them. The staff at reception genuinely seem to care about helping you figure out your day, and they know the neighborhood well enough to give you real recommendations rather than just pointing you toward the obvious tourist spots.

I found myself using the common areas more than I expected — there are spots to work with your laptop that don’t feel cramped, and the overall vibe encourages you to linger a bit rather than just rushing in and out like you’re at some business hotel chain.

Why Guests Love It

The 9.2 rating makes complete sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s the kind of place that handles the basics flawlessly — consistent hot water, reliable air conditioning, housekeeping that doesn’t disrupt your schedule — while adding thoughtful touches that make a difference during a longer stay.

What really sold me was the balance between independence and support. You can live your own routine with the apartment-style setup, but there’s always someone at the front desk who can help sort things out when you need it. For Milan, especially if you’re staying more than a few nights, this approach just works better than the typical hotel experience.

  Excellent location for accessing Milan city centre. Just jumped on the M1 line which was super convenient and cheap. Neighbourhood was lovely. Some great places to eat around there. Shower was really hot and pressure was good.
  
  What could be improved: Whilst it didn't bother us, there are trams and a main road outside so there was quite a lot of street noise. If you are a light sleeper take ear plugs.

  Cleanliness, safety and technology. Very modern build with excellent location. Close to the tub and with loads of restaurants a short walk away.

  I stayed here with my son and we loved it! The apartment was super clean, spacious, and comfortable. Great location, close to everything (3 minutes walk from the metro station) but still quiet because of the double glass window. The bathroom was super modern, and we really enjoyed having a coffee machine in the room. Perfect for our short family stay: we’d happily come back!
