Rifugio Chic in Centro Milano Overview
First Impressions
Rifugio Chic in Centro Milano sits on the first floor of a classic Milanese building on Via Uberto Visconti di Modrone — honestly, the name sounds fancier than it needs to be, but the location is genuinely perfect. You know what strikes you first? It’s how they’ve managed to create this warm, intimate space in the heart of Milan’s busiest district. The four-star property feels more like staying at a stylish friend’s place than a typical hotel, which is exactly what you want when you’re exploring the city.
The Neighborhood
Being in Milan City Centre means you’re literally walking distance from everything that matters — La Scala is about ten minutes on foot, and the Duomo is close enough that you’ll probably end up there multiple times just because it’s so easy. What I actually love about this particular street is that it’s residential enough to feel authentic, but you’re still surrounded by those little cafés and shops that make Milan so addictive. The metro connections are solid too, so even if you want to venture further out, it’s no hassle.
The Space
Each room here has this thoughtful, modern Italian design that doesn’t try too hard — clean lines, good lighting, and those little touches that show someone actually cares about the details. The beds are comfortable (always my first test), and there’s enough space to spread out your shopping bags, which let’s be honest, you’re going to need in Milan. I mean, the bathrooms are compact but well-designed, and everything just works the way it should.
Daily Life
Breakfast is simple but done right — fresh pastries, decent coffee, and you can eat it in this cozy common area that feels like someone’s living room. There’s no fancy restaurant or elaborate spa, but that’s not really what this place is about. Instead, you get helpful staff who know the neighborhood inside and out, and they’re genuinely excited to point you toward that perfect aperitivo spot or the vintage shop you’d never find on your own.
Why Guests Love It
What makes Rifugio Chic work is that it understands what travelers actually want in Milan — a comfortable base that doesn’t eat up your budget, genuine local character, and a location that puts you in the middle of everything without the chaos of staying right on a major tourist drag. The 8.7 rating makes sense when you experience it; it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it delivers on the promise of letting you live like a local for a few days. Plus, when you’re out exploring until late (which you will be), it’s nice coming back to a place that feels like home.

Reviews of Rifugio Chic in Centro Milano
Superb – Khalid from Saudi Arabia – 17 October 2025 (9/10)
– Great location! Very close to the center.
– Multiple nearby parking options.
– Super clean.
What could be improved: – Apartment is a bit cramped.
– Elevator is very small.
– No instructions on how to operate the heater/AC.Superb – Jiawei from United Kingdom – 15 October 2025 (9/10)
The location is perfect. It's near the metro station and bus station. 10 mins walk to the duomo.
What could be improved: It's better to offer some washing up liquid. It was a great stay, just the downside was the host not announcing himself when coming in. – Salma from New Zealand – 4 September 2025 (10/10)
Everything was great overall, looks exactly as the pictures. Perfect for a family of four, very comfortable & shower was amazing, good water pressure.
What could be improved: There was a misunderstanding with the host & supposedly we were going to check out at 3am, but it was incorrect. We were going to check out 10:30am. However, because of this misunderstanding the host came in & scared my family, he didn’t knock nor announce himself, someone could have been getting out of the shower with no clothes or could still be sleeping & he didn’t seem to mind. In any hotel / airb&b it’s common sense to knock & announce yourself before or even after opening the door.Beautiful apartment and top location. – Iva from Bulgaria – 7 July 2025 (5/10)
Location is spot on, very close to Duomo and very nice area to be located at.
What could be improved: There was no bathroom amenities, even just a plain soap. It’s very unpleasant after a flight to check in and there is nothing to wash your hands with. And it would be nice to have some bottles of water for guests too. Just a nice gesture.Disappointing – Margot from South Africa – 6 July 2025 (4/10)
Central location
What could be improved: We were without electricity for 8 hours without immediate assistance by host.
There was no urgency to assist us, and they were late on two occasions.
Our host was not always available. It was all worth it – Teguh from Indonesia – 29 June 2025 (8/10)
We like the room & location
really Good for family trip
What could be improved: The stair before the liftVery good – Markus from Thailand – 15 June 2025 (8/10)
Very good location
What could be improved: No parking. The garage next to it costs 80 Euro per day. But this is due to the great location. I recommend to park the car further outside.Superb – Luke from Germany – 8 May 2025 (9/10)
The host was exceptionally kind, and the hotel is well-located with easy access to nearby attractions.
What could be improved: I'm not sure where the noise was coming from – It was more like a repeated squeaking sound, similar to a creaky gate. Unfortunately, I heard it every night during my stay.Pleasant – Anavuk85 from Serbia – 16 January 2025 (6/10)
The location, the building and the inside of the apartment with all the facilities are excellent.
What could be improved: The apartment was freezing when we arrived and could not be heated until the end of our stay (4days).In addition to the heating, I also set the air conditioner to 31, but it didn't work properly either. The apartment was dirty, as was the toilet, which was not washed properlyGreat apartment conveniently located in the center of Milano – Francisco from United States – 8 January 2025 (10/10)
Communication with host via WhatsApp was excellent. Apartment is very conveniently located in San Babila just two blocks from metro station and a short walk from Duomo. Apartment is well equipped with kitchen, washing machine and dryer. Highly recommended.
What could be improved: Nothing to add.
