The neighborhood has this authentic Milan energy that you just don’t find in the more touristy areas near the Duomo.

Practical Considerations

Now, let’s be real about what you’re getting. The 7.1 rating reflects some trade-offs — this isn’t a full-service hotel with 24-hour concierge and daily housekeeping. It’s more of a self-contained experience, which some people absolutely love and others find a bit limiting. The room can feel snug if you’re traveling with lots of luggage, and the building doesn’t have an elevator (something to consider if you’re on an upper floor). But for what it is — a well-designed base in one of Milan’s coolest neighborhoods — it delivers exactly what it promises.

  The apartment is nice, in a good location. and we only wish we had a better experience! Very disappointing.
  
  What could be improved: First, not all of the publicized amenities were there. One of the reasons we chose the place was the washing machine which was not there at all. After we inquired about the matter the owner deleted it from the booking.com list but we have a printout of the confirmation and we see a washing machine there. There is no electric kettle in the apartment, no cloth racks, no ironing facilities – in sum, it was not all as promised.
  The lack of a washing machine caused me to spend much of our time going back and forth to the laundromat down the street, and of course, spending much money on the service.
  Second, the closet in the bedroom was packed with laundry (e.g., fresh towels) and cleaning supplies so there was no place to unpack the suitcase. Instead of apologizing for stacking the closet in the guest room with irrelevant stuff, the owner got really rude when he learned we took 2 extra towels from the closet. Needless to say, in any other hotel or apartment the guest can expect to take extra towels, blankets or cushions from the closet in their room. This is common practice.
  Instead, the owner scolded us
  “it has been reported to me that you are taking a lot of stuff from the closet including towels and sheets”
  And threatened:
  “I therefore ask you to pay for what you use that is not available to you and you could have at least asked. The cost is 15€ for the two used kits and must be left in cash at checkout otherwise I will have to ask Booking to intervene”
  Needless to say, it is not about the money (I apologized for not asking). Its about the rude attitude. And by the way, we did not take any sheets out.
  
  Third, the shower was not clean when we came in. my wife had to clean it. Then we found out there was a problem in the drain of the shower. Owner promised to take care of it but only on the 3rd day of our stay was this solved. For 3 days we showered in water that reached up to our ankles. Whoever took care of the problem left a filthy shower with shoe marks.
