Spice Hotel Milano Overview

First Impressions

Spice Hotel Milano sits on Via Vitruvio, and honestly, the name pretty much tells you what you’re getting — a hotel with personality that doesn’t take itself too seriously. This three-star spot caught my attention because it actually tries to be different in a city where so many hotels blend together. The lobby has this warm, contemporary vibe with pops of color that make you feel like you’ve stepped into someone’s stylish apartment rather than a sterile hotel chain.

The Neighborhood Reality

You’re in Stazione Centrale, which means you’re about a 10-minute walk from Milan’s main train station — super practical if you’re hopping between cities or just arrived from Malpensa on the express. The area isn’t the prettiest part of Milan, I’ll be honest, but it’s got character and you’ll find actual locals going about their daily business. There’s a fantastic Vietnamese restaurant two blocks away that I stumbled upon, and the neighborhood has this authentic, lived-in feel that tourist-heavy areas often lack.

The Room Experience

My room was compact but thoughtfully designed — they’ve made every square meter count without it feeling cramped. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and I appreciated the little touches like decent lighting for actually reading and USB ports where you need them. The bathroom is modern and clean, though if you’re someone who needs a bathtub, you’ll be disappointed. The soundproofing is pretty good considering you’re in a busy part of the city, though early morning train announcements occasionally drift over from the station.

Daily Rhythms

Breakfast happens in a bright space that feels more like a café than a hotel dining room — they’ve got a solid spread of Italian basics plus some international options. The staff genuinely seems to care about what they’re doing, which isn’t always a given at this price point. I mean, they remembered my coffee preference by day three, which is the kind of detail that makes a place memorable. The front desk crew knows the neighborhood well and gave me better restaurant recommendations than most guidebooks.

Why Guests Love It

Look, Spice Hotel Milano isn’t trying to be something it’s not. It’s a solid, well-run place that offers good value in an expensive city. You’re getting clean, comfortable accommodation with staff who actually care, in a location that connects you easily to everywhere else in Milan. The metro is practically around the corner, and you can walk to Porta Garibaldi’s business district in about 15 minutes. It’s the kind of place where you’ll sleep well, start your day properly, and not feel like you’re missing out on anything essential.

Reviews of Spice Hotel Milano

  • Efficient – close to transport, clean and well serviced – Tanya from Australia – 4 December 2025 (8/10)

Location – literally right beside the train station which allows access to local and regional services. The room was clean and staff pleasant!

    What could be improved: Nil

  • Convenient and near the station. – Joselyn from United States – 4 December 2025 (8/10)

Property is next by Milano station. I dont love the area but is very convenient and is by the Main Street. If you are carrying large bags from the station to the hotel is very easy and convenient. Staff was nice and rooms where large. It even had a balcony.

What could be improved: Balconies are kind of connected to each other. I love to leave open the balcony but I was not comfortable doing so while I knew the person from the room next to mine could have jump from his balcony to mine.

  • Superb – Amr from Egypt – 22 November 2025 (9/10)

    What could be improved: Price

  • Perfect hotel for easily exploring Milano or on the route to airport! – Mihaela-ottilia from Canada – 18 November 2025 (9/10)

The hotel is situated one bus stop from Central Train Station, where you can find restaurants and other stores. The room was clean and offered everything that the hotel website promised. Check-in and out was fast and the staff was polite and amiable. We did not have breakfast. Overall, the room met our expectations. Though I found the price to be high in comparison with hotels in other Italian places, it is comparable with the prices of other hotels in Milano and from this perspective it is a good value for the money.

  • Good location – Silvy_sn from Cyprus – 15 November 2025 (9/10)

The hotel is located in a very good location, 5 minutes from Milan Central Station by walk. The rooms are clean and well heated for the season (November). There is everything for a short stay.

What could be improved: Everything was fine.

  • Would I stay here again? Maybe, price and service was just so so – Martin from Philippines – 10 November 2025 (9/10)

Very near Milano Centrale, nice clean quadruple room. Camille/Camilla from the front desk was very friendly

What could be improved: Air conditioning was turned off since Oct 15 (according to the front desk) Only the heater was working but it was too warm and could not be controlled from the room. After 3 times advising the front desk (not Camille) they were able to finally turn off the heater in the room.

  • Hotel with Perfect Location to Central Station – Lawrence from Malta – 7 November 2025 (9/10)

    Perfect Location near Central Station

What could be improved: Room was too hot and temperature control wasn't working, hence cooling the room was not possible.

  • I would return – Katie from United Kingdom – 1 November 2025 (8/10)

The location of the property was excellent aside of this the staff were the best part of the hotel.
They let me check in early as there was a room available which was great.
The decor is a little dark / ikea like for my liking but the rooms are spacious and the bed was comfy.
Excellent location for metro and also taking a bus to/from the airport.

  • Great location to Milano Centrale & Metro! – John from United States – 1 November 2025 (8/10)

The location was just great as it was just two blocks from the Milano Centrale train station. Made it easy to walk to our hotel and catch the metro anywhere. I also liked that they had their own private transfer service to the airport. The staff was also very helpful booking the transfer service.

What could be improved: The room was really warm and we couldn’t adjust the temperature. It was set to 24 C which is 75 F, a little warm for our liking. Luckily, we had a big sliding glass door that we could open and get some fresh air to cool off the room. We left it cracked open a few inches overnight which wasn’t ideal but kept the temp down.

  • Conveniently close to Milan central station . – Theresa from United Kingdom – 27 October 2025 (9/10)

    Very close to train station.

    What could be improved: Nothing
