Starhotels Tourist Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Starhotels Tourist, you immediately get the sense that this isn’t trying to be something it’s not — and honestly, that’s refreshing. The lobby has this clean, contemporary feel without being cold or sterile. It’s clearly a four-star property that knows its audience: business travelers, tourists who want comfort without the fuss, and people who appreciate good design that doesn’t scream for attention.
The Bicocca Advantage
Here’s what I love about the location — you’re in Milan‘s Bicocca district, which means you get the best of both worlds. You’re not drowning in tourist crowds like you would be near the Duomo, but you can still hop on the metro and be in the city center in about 20 minutes. The area around Viale Fulvio Testi has this authentic Milanese neighborhood vibe, with local cafes where you’ll actually hear Italian being spoken instead of just English and German.
Room Experience
The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d expect from a solid four-star — spacious enough that you’re not bumping into your luggage every time you turn around, with a work desk that’s actually usable (you know how rare that is). The bathroom was modern and well-lit, which I always appreciate when you’re trying to look presentable for meetings or dinner. What struck me most was how quiet everything was, considering you’re on a fairly busy street.
Practical Perks
The hotel restaurant serves decent Italian fare — nothing groundbreaking, but the pasta was properly al dente and the staff knew their wine list. There’s also parking available, which if you’re driving in Milan, you’ll understand is basically like finding gold. The breakfast spread was solid too, with proper Italian coffee that doesn’t taste like it’s been sitting around since yesterday.
Why Guests Love It
What really makes this place work is that it gets the fundamentals right without any pretense. The staff genuinely seems to care about whether you’re having a good stay, the Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building, and you’re positioned perfectly to explore Milan without feeling like you need to battle crowds just to get back to your hotel. It’s the kind of place where you can focus on why you came to Milan in the first place, rather than dealing with hotel drama.
Hotels in Milan dot historic Brera district, cathedral squares, and design quarters brimming with artisan workshops.

Reviews of Starhotels Tourist
Ideal base to tour the city & do the Milan Parkrun. – Mark from United Kingdom – 29 October 2025 (9/10)
Location in relation to the Metro station & the Park. The helpful and friendly staff. High quality breakfast in a lovely hotel and very clean room.
What could be improved: The new practice of adding a discretionary tip of 10% of any food or drink purchase. It puts the customer in an uncomfortable and embarrassing situation if they refuse. The employer should pay their staff a higher salary & not expect them to rely on tips to earn a living wage. If necessary increase their room rates to compensate. It was pleasant and satisfying. – Vasiliki from Greece – 28 October 2025 (9/10)
The room is big and clean. The hotel is across a metro station and in the back street there is a Lidl supermarket.
What could be improved: The room is no soundproof, so we could hear noise from the other rooms and from the hallway. It was a very good experience for us as family, thanks to the Starhotels team. – Arghajit from Denmark – 16 October 2025 (9/10)
Good location well connected by Metro to main stations, great service by staff (thanks to Manuel and his colleague on shift, helped with early check-in and very accommodating). Liked our room, comfortable and clean, good breakfast. We would recommend ths hotel 🙂
What could be improved: For a 4 star hotel, we expected the room to be bigger, but it was OK.Superb – Moushumi from Qatar – 24 August 2025 (9/10)
Neat, clean with excellent location – few step from Metro M5 which takes you to Duomo in 30 mins. Excellent and courteous staff. Good restaurants for lunch and dinner. Meets all normal requirements for stay.
What could be improved: Breakfast was ok. Surprised that hot items eg omelette are not included in base breakfast and one has to pay extra for these items as Ala Carte.Very good – Ray from United Kingdom – 23 August 2025 (8/10)
Good location, clean and comfortable
Excellent stay – Arnaud from France – 15 August 2025 (8/10)
Good location. Great room and staff
Good for an overnight stay if you are travelling with the car and just passing Milan by. – Anton from France – 11 August 2025 (9/10)
Secured underground parking. Friendly staff. Clean and spacious room. Pets friendly. Good variety breakfast. Metro station in front of the hotel.
What could be improved: The property is fine, however the area around is very unattractive. There was dirt and rubbish on the streets. And there is nothing to do or see in the neighborhood.Superb – Marek from Poland – 8 August 2025 (9/10)
Beautiful hotel, very atmospheric. Clean. Away from the city center, but a metro station is just a few meters outside the hotel gate.
Superb – Khalid from Oman – 17 July 2025 (9/10)
The hotel is economical and comfortable. It’s a bit far from the Duomo, but the metro station is right in front of the hotel, making it easy to reach anywhere in Milan. The rooms are spacious and clean. Special thanks to Yassine from the staff for his kindness and helpful tips about the metro routes.
Also, for those renting a car, the hotel offers indoor parking for €15 per day, which is great to keep your car safe.
I had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back again.
