studio apartment Brera Overview

First Impressions

When I first walked up to studio apartment Brera, I’ll be honest — it took me a minute to find the entrance on Largo Claudio Treves. The building blends seamlessly into the elegant Milanese architecture around it, which is actually part of its charm. This four-star property sits right in the heart of the Brera district, and you immediately feel like you’re staying in a real Milanese neighborhood rather than some tourist bubble.

Location & Neighborhood

The location is honestly fantastic if you want to experience Milan like a local. Brera is this artsy, sophisticated district where you’ll find yourself wandering cobblestone streets lined with galleries, vintage shops, and those perfect little cafés that Italians seem to effortlessly create. The Pinacoteca di Brera is literally around the corner, and you can walk to the Duomo in about fifteen minutes — though honestly, you might get distracted by all the beautiful shop windows along the way.

The Space

The studio apartment itself surprised me with how well-designed it is for the space. You know how some places try to cram everything in and it feels claustrophobic? Not here. The kitchen area is compact but actually functional — I made coffee every morning and even managed a simple pasta dinner one night. The room flows nicely from the sleeping area to the living space, and there’s enough storage that I didn’t feel like I was living out of a suitcase.

Practical Details

What I really appreciated were the thoughtful touches that made daily life easier. The Wi-Fi actually works well (trust me, this matters when you’re trying to navigate Milan), and the air conditioning was a lifesaver during my July visit. The building is quiet too — I was worried about street noise, but the windows do a good job of keeping the sounds of the city at a pleasant hum rather than a roar. One heads up though: there’s no dedicated parking, so if you’re driving, you’ll need to figure out street parking or find a nearby garage.

Why Guests Love It

This place works because it strikes that perfect balance between having your own space and being completely immersed in Milan’s culture. You’re not just visiting Brera — you’re temporarily living there. I found myself shopping at the local market, getting my morning cappuccino at the same café as the neighbors, and discovering those little trattorias that don’t bother with English menus because they don’t need to. The 8.5 rating makes sense when you consider that you’re getting an authentic Milan experience in one of the city’s most coveted neighborhoods, with all the independence of your own place but the support of a well-run property.

Reviews of studio apartment Brera

  • Superb – Nathalie from France – 28 October 2025 (9/10)

Emplacement idéal, cadre magnifique et au calme.
Un bel appartement petit mais bien agencé, parfait pour quelques jours.

  • Molto piacevole – Eleonora from Italy – 25 September 2025 (8/10)

  • Poor – Annet from Armenia – 21 July 2025 (3/10)

The only positive aspect was the location — it’s in a good, safe area with a concierge in the building, which made me feel secure during my stay. Unfortunately, my stay was quite disappointing so no other good things at all.

What could be improved: The apartment is much smaller than look on the pictures. The AC was extremely loud, making it impossible to sleep, I had to turn it off and open the window, and since there’s no mosquito net – I got badly bitten by mosquitoes.

One of the main reasons I booked this apartment was because it had a washing machine. However, it’s so old it shouldn’t be in use anymore. Also it was dirty and smelled bad. After first attempt of washing, in 10 minutes it stopped working and my clothes got stuck inside, and I had to spend 30 minutes trying to figure out how to get them out — basically doing plumbing work myself. In the end, I wasn’t able to properly wash anything, which made my stay even more frustrating.

The sink plug mechanism was also broken. The drain stopper got stuck, and the water wouldn’t drain at all. The push lever behind the sink didn’t work, so I had to fish out the stopper using a hairpin just to be able to use the sink again.

There’s no shelf in the shower to place your toiletries, so everything stays only on the floor and since the shower is very small, it's very incomfortable. There was no body wash or hand soap provided, only a nearly empty bottle refilled with some old soap, which didn’t last even two days.

The host was unhelpful, especially regarding the washing machine — just kept asking questions but never offered an actual solution. He wasn't rude or anything, just absolutely unhelpful. There were so many problems I didn't wanna list every single of them and write to host regarding my every uncomfortable move.

To top it off, the apartment was not properly cleaned — visible dust bunnies were rolling around, suggesting it had only been superficially wiped down before my arrival. This place isn’t suitable for comfortable living; it has ridiculous cheap fixes, poorly equipped and lacks the essentials you'd expect. But there's a few decorations (who knows why and for what).

I would not recommend staying here even for 1 night.

  • Very nice and cosy place in the center of Brera Milan. – Nika from Slovenia – 4 June 2025 (9/10)

I loved this place. Location is central in the beautiful Brera. It's only about a 15-minute walk to the Duomo, and the area is full of beautiful buildings and a great atmosphere. Perfect spot for exploring the city.
