First Impressions

When I first stepped into Studio-Majno, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from a three-star place in central Milan. But you know what? This little gem on Viale Luigi Majno completely changed my perspective on boutique accommodations. The building itself has that classic Milanese charm — you’re on the fifth floor, so there’s actually a decent view once you get up there, and the elevator works just fine (always a concern in older Italian buildings).

The Studio Experience

The room is essentially a well-designed studio apartment that feels way more spacious than you’d expect for the price point. I mean, they’ve really maximized every square meter here. The kitchenette isn’t just for show either — it’s got everything you need for a quick breakfast or late-night snack, which came in handy more than once during my stay. The bed is comfortable, and honestly, after walking around Milan all day, that’s what matters most.

Location That Actually Works

Here’s the thing about the location — Viale Luigi Majno puts you right in the sweet spot between the fashion district and the more residential Porta Venezia area. You’re literally a 10-minute walk from the Quadrilatero della Moda, but you’re not paying those crazy Montenapoleone prices. The Palestro metro stop is close enough that you don’t need to think twice about getting around the city, and there’s this great little market nearby where locals actually shop.

Neighborhood Gems

What I really loved was discovering the area around the hotel. There’s this fantastic restaurant called Da Giacomo just a few blocks away — not the touristy one everyone knows, but a smaller spot that serves incredible risotto. The whole Porta Venezia district has this authentic Milan vibe that you miss when you stay closer to the Duomo. Plus, the Indro Montanelli gardens are right there when you need a break from all that concrete and marble.

Why Guests Love It

Look, Studio-Majno isn’t trying to be something it’s not. It’s clean, well-located, and the staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work. The 8.7 rating makes total sense once you spend a night or two here. You get that independent traveler feeling without sacrificing comfort, and the price point lets you spend your money on actual Milan experiences instead of inflated hotel rates. If you’re the type who wants to live like a local for a few days rather than being pampered in a big chain hotel, this place delivers.

  Very clear instructions from Marco, and we were allowed to drop bags off before check-in. (Thanks to the building guardian).
  Clean, secure, private, and compact apartment on the 5th floor, but there is a lift. It's great having a kitchenette and a nespresso machine. Good location with nearby public transport and local restaurants.

  Nice clean appartment with Character , perfect cosy retreat .great vincini. Plenty of cafes ,bars ,restaraunts.Tourist spots 30 mins walk .very secure .

  Very nice little studio apartment. Convenient location, we could easily walk from the apartment to Duomo and all other touristic places. The bed and the blanket was very comfortable, very calm place.

  To start with I think this is one of the best hosts I’ve ever had. Such a lovely man! He was so kind and helpful and was always on the other end of the phone if we needed anything- whether that was restaurant recommendations or questions about the room etc. (thank you so much). The entry process for the property would be quite hard, however the instructions were so clear and easy to follow and were sent in advance – the same as checkout info
  
  The property was super clean and in a really good location (20 min walk from the cathedral/main square). It had great connections into the city- tram, train and bus. The location around the apartment is nice – there are restaurants and supermarkets around and it’s really easy to get to the main station (milano centrale).
  
  The apartments equipped with a kettle and tea, coffee, a small kitchen etc. I would definitely stay again if I come back to Milan!

  The apartment is on the 5th floor, accessed by a lift. It has a small kitchen and bathroom – shower is quite small but otherwise fine. We particularly liked the location – it’s about a 25 minute walk from the station but close to some lovely gardens and buildings. We walked to the Duomo. Marco was very proactive in communication – locating the key and accessing the apartment was a bit like a treasure hunt!
  
  What could be improved: Nothing – it’s a small apartment. The terrace outside would be a nice area to sit but it needs a bit of gardening and a tidy up!
