First Impressions

Walking into Uptown Palace, you get that immediate sense of stepping into something special — not over-the-top fancy, but definitely polished. The lobby has this warm, sophisticated vibe that says four-star without trying too hard. I mean, you can tell they’ve put thought into every detail, from the marble floors to the way the lighting hits just right in the evening.

Prime Milan Location

Here’s what I love about Via Santa Sofia — you’re literally in the heart of Milan but on a quieter street that doesn’t feel like tourist central. The Duomo is maybe a 10-minute walk, and you’ve got the Quadrilatero della Moda (that’s the fashion quarter) practically at your doorstep. Honestly, I’ve stayed in busier areas and regretted it — this spot gives you easy access without the constant noise.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was actually bigger than I expected for Milan standards. You know how European hotels can be… well, compact? This wasn’t like that at all. The bed was properly comfortable, and there’s decent space to actually unpack and spread out a bit. The bathroom had this nice rainfall shower that, let me tell you, felt amazing after walking around Milan all day.

Dining and Amenities

The on-site restaurant serves solid Northern Italian cuisine — nothing groundbreaking, but the risotto alla milanese was spot-on. What really impressed me was the breakfast spread. They do both continental and some hot Italian options, and the coffee (obviously crucial in Milan) was properly strong. There’s also a small fitness area if you need to work off all that pasta, though honestly, you’ll probably walk it off exploring the city.

Why Guests Love It

Look, Uptown Palace isn’t trying to be the flashiest hotel in Milan, and that’s exactly why it works. The staff actually remembers your name after the first day, the parking situation is sorted (which is no small feat in this city), and you’re positioned perfectly to experience Milan like a local rather than just another tourist. It’s that sweet spot where you get genuine comfort and service without paying five-star prices for things you probably don’t need anyway.

  The location was quite good, there's Metro Stations nearby, but it's also not too far to the Duomo Milano by foot. The workers were very friendly. We could check in 3 hours earlier. When checking out they helped with carrying the luggage. The bed was comfortable, bathroom had 2 syncs, very nice shower. The view of the city in the breakfast hall is amazing, you see the mushroom tower and the Duomo.
  
  What could be improved: The room should have been 22sqm but felt more like 15sqm. The breakfast was okay but feel like the quality of the warm options was very poor, scrambled eggs smelt fishy and the sausages were extremely dry (croissants and yoghurt were great though). It was very expensive and in general fell short of our expectations in comparison to our last stay in Milan.

  We stayed for 1 night on our way home from Follonica. We had 2 rooms and it was a amazing stay. Wonderful and clean rooms. We had a executive suite with view to the Dom. It was absolutely perfect. Breakfast was super delicious. We would come back.
