WPRELAIS Palm Fronds sits on a quiet side street just steps from Milano Centrale station, which honestly makes it one of those finds you stumble upon rather than seek out. The name might sound a bit tropical for Milan, but there’s something refreshingly different about this four-star property that sets it apart from the typical business hotels clustered around the train station.

Location & Getting Around

You know what’s great about Via Lazzaretto? It’s close enough to Centrale that you can drag your luggage there in five minutes, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the constant buzz of taxis and announcements. The metro’s right there when you need it, and I actually prefer this spot to being right in the thick of things — you get that neighborhood feel while still being connected to everything Milan has to offer.

The Porta Garibaldi district is within easy reach, and honestly, this area has really come into its own in recent years. There are some solid local spots for aperitivo nearby, plus you’re not paying tourist prices for everything like you would closer to the Duomo.

The Room Experience

The rooms here have this clean, modern vibe that feels more boutique than chain hotel. Nothing too flashy, but everything works — and I mean actually works, not just looks good. The room I stayed in had decent space (not always a given in Milan), and the bed was genuinely comfortable. The bathroom’s well-designed too, with good water pressure and those little details that show someone was actually thinking about the guest experience.

Amenities & Dining

While there isn’t a full restaurant on-site, they’ve got breakfast sorted, and it’s better than the usual continental spread you’d expect. The staff actually knows their stuff about the neighborhood — they pointed me toward this little place around the corner that I never would have found otherwise. There’s also decent parking available, which honestly can be a lifesaver in this part of the city if you’re driving.

Look, WPRELAIS Palm Fronds isn’t trying to be the fanciest hotel in Milan, but it nails what most travelers actually need. The 8.7 rating makes sense when you experience the service — it’s that sweet spot where the staff is helpful without being overly formal, and everything just runs smoothly. You’re getting solid value in a city where hotel prices can get pretty steep, especially anywhere with decent transport links.

What really won me over was how it feels like a proper rest stop rather than just somewhere to crash between flights or train connections. The neighborhood has character, the hotel has personality, and you’re not paying premium prices for location alone. It’s the kind of place where you actually look forward to coming back at the end of the day.

  Close to Milano Centrale, clean, modern and comfortable. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby.
  
  What could be improved: Not very close to any of the main attractions in central Milan. You need to hop on the metro or taxi and it's a good 25 mins away from Duomo or downtown area. Perfect if you are not planning to commute to downtown Milan for tourism.

  Location was great 10mins walk from train station and approximately 25mins walk to cathedral.
  It was a spacious apartment and the terrace garden was an added bonus.
  Obviously it was a city break with a very busy itinerary and therefore met our needs.
  
  What could be improved: The door was a little bit tricky to open at times , but thankfully our daughter was able to master it.
