Aparthotel Porta Nuova Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Aparthotel Porta Nuova on Corso di Porta Nuova, you immediately get that “I’m in the heart of something important” feeling. The building itself has this classic Milanese elegance — not flashy, but substantial in a way that tells you it’s been here for decades. What struck me first was how the entrance manages to feel both grand and approachable, which honestly isn’t easy to pull off in Milan.
Location & Getting Around
This four-star place sits right in Milan’s city center, and I mean right in it. You’re basically a five-minute walk from the Duomo, which sounds touristy but is actually incredibly practical — all the metro lines converge there, so getting anywhere becomes simple. The shopping district along Via Montenapoleone is close enough that you’ll probably wander over without planning to, and the Brera neighborhood (my personal favorite for aperitivo) is just across the way.
The Apartment Experience
Here’s where things get interesting — each apartment feels more like a temporary Milan address than a hotel room. The kitchenette isn’t just for show; it’s actually functional with a proper stovetop and enough counter space to prep a real meal. I appreciated having a separate living area because, let’s be honest, after a long day of walking around Milan, you want somewhere to sprawl that isn’t your bed. The windows are tall and let in that particular quality of Italian light that makes everything look better.
Daily Rhythms
The breakfast setup works well — it’s served in a bright space that feels more like a neighborhood café than a hotel dining room. You know what I liked? They actually have decent coffee, which isn’t always a given in hotel restaurant situations. The staff has this relaxed professionalism that feels very Milan — helpful without being hovering. There’s parking available, though honestly, in this part of the city you’re better off using public transport anyway.
Why Guests Love It
What makes Aparthotel Porta Nuova work is that balance between independence and service. You get the space and freedom of having your own place, but with housekeeping and a front desk when you need them. For longer stays in Milan — and really, Milan deserves more than a quick weekend — this setup makes so much more sense than a traditional hotel room. The location means you can actually live like a local for a few days, grabbing groceries at the nearby markets and finding your own rhythm in the city.

Reviews of Aparthotel Porta Nuova
Stylish apartment in excellent central location – Hilton from South Africa – 14 November 2025 (9/10)
We felt like locals! The apartment is well located in a quiet neighbourhood – it's within walking distance from the main train station, Duomo and other central attractions. Spacious and very well appointed. Some quirky touches that make it memorable. No problem to leave luggage on the day of departure.
Staff were very accommodating to allow me to arrive so late. – Tyrone from France – 2 November 2025 (9/10)
Nice appt, good facilities.
What could be improved: Slightly difficult to access late at nightExcellent service! Lovely place! Coming back! – Dajana from Albania – 24 October 2025 (10/10)
Everything was perfect. The host was really helpful. The room was spacious and very clean. The location is perfect if you are using public transport and you want to be near duomo and central station. Totally recommend it!
Excellent – Marija from North Macedonia – 13 October 2025 (10/10)
Apartment is very clean and full equipped , near to the Duomo 15 min walk , and the owner Marco is very nice and polite, our flight was late and he gave us self check in with his support remote. If I go again for sure I will choose the same apartment
Exceptional – Gundula from United States – 6 October 2025 (10/10)
The apartment was much more spacious than expected and very nicely set up, with a pretty well-equipped kitchenette and black-out curtains for the high windows. Although it was practically on the ground floor, it felt safe and was very quiet (tucked away in a back yard). We were there on a weekend, and I guess it might get more noisy during the week, but we had a wonderful time. The king bed was comfy too.
What could be improved: It wasn't so easy to find the location / get to the right entrance, and there were some miscommunications, but everything worked out in the end, and the place was just wonderful.Would highly recommend. Loved the location-we walked everywhere! – Lorraine from United States – 5 October 2025 (10/10)
Excellent location-excellent communication! Room was spotless! Stayed for 2 nights-loved the coffee maker & mini fridge.
What could be improved: As all of Milan-a little pricey.Superb – Beat from Switzerland – 28 September 2025 (9/10)
Nice little room, perfect for a short family trip. Very clean.
What could be improved: All good.Quite nice overall. It's more of an air b and b style than an apparthotel – Rebecca from United Kingdom – 17 September 2025 (7/10)
It was clean and quiet and had good facilities once we got in and came to terms with what it was in terms of accommodation. It had good facilities , a pod coffee machine kichen quite good . Supermarket nearby and some quite nice bars/ restaurants on the street. Fairly convenient for walking to Garibaldi and Centrale stations .
What could be improved: Arrival was a bit weird. I had thought I had booked an apartment in a purpose built apparthotel with 24 hour reception. It turned out to be a converted ground floor flat in a block. So that was a bit confusing at the front door lots of bells for flats and businesses.
The host did not come to meet us in spite of dialogue re arrival time and the general doorman gave us keys which was fine. Good job he was there.. The host showed up later to get the city tax. The studio was a bit dark without much natural light so ok for a short stay I think.Great location, and fair price for the stay. – Jimmi from Denmark – 27 July 2025 (9/10)
Placed very central i Milano, within walking distance from most.
Nice and clean. Two large beds, and even two tv's.
Nice reception on arrival, with good intruduction the apartment.
Internet was not that fast.
Parking in the inner yard, but at extra cost.
What could be improved: Parking at ekstra cost.
Solw internet.Exceptional – Ekaterina from Germany – 15 July 2025 (10/10)
Really great location, apartment with everything in, great equipped
What could be improved: Very difficult to find in the yard, no information about it, pure English of staff
