Apartments Porta Venezia – Milan downtown Overview
First Impressions
Apartments Porta Venezia – Milan downtown sits right on Via Nino Bixio, and honestly, the location hits that sweet spot between being in the thick of things without the tourist chaos. When I first walked up, I’ll admit it doesn’t scream “hotel” — it’s more like stepping into a well-kept residential building, which actually works in its favor. The entrance feels understated, almost like you’re visiting a friend’s place in the city.
The Neighborhood
You know what’s great about this spot in Milan? You’re genuinely in a local neighborhood. Porta Venezia isn’t where every guidebook sends tourists, but it’s where Milanese actually live and work. There’s this authentic energy here — cafés that locals frequent, small shops that aren’t trying to sell you branded keychains, and tree-lined streets that make walking around actually pleasant. The Porta Venezia metro stop is maybe a five-minute walk, so getting to the Duomo or Brera takes no time at all.
The Apartment Experience
This three-star place works because it gives you an apartment feel rather than cramming you into a typical hotel room. The spaces have proper kitchenette setups — not just a mini-fridge and hope for the best. I mean, having a real coffee maker and some counter space makes those early Milan mornings so much better. The furnishings lean modern without trying too hard, and there’s enough space to actually unpack and settle in for a few days.
Daily Life Here
What surprised me was how naturally you slip into a routine here. There’s a solid restaurant scene within walking distance — not fancy tourist traps, but places where you can grab a proper aperitivo or late dinner without breaking the bank. The building itself is quiet, which matters more than you’d think in a city like Milan. You’ll sleep well, and the parking situation (if you’re driving) is manageable, though honestly, you won’t need a car much from this location.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t about marble lobbies or concierge services — it’s about having a proper base in Milan that doesn’t feel artificial. You get the independence of your own space, you’re surrounded by real Milan life, and you can walk to both the main sights and the neighborhoods where locals actually spend their time. For what you pay, especially considering you’re getting apartment-style space in the city center, it just makes sense. It’s the kind of place you’d actually want to stay again.

Wonderful place & area to stay at. We also love to have wonderful hosts & Daniella was one of them from the very beginning to the end of the trip. We loved the area of Porta Venezia which is highly frequented by locals…wonderful for breakfast, aperitivo, dinner. Metro station was pretty much close & tram stop to Duomo was a minute walk away. We have a private kitchen, bathroom and rooms were clean and warm. Airconditioner was available at no extra cost (no coin meter). Water in bathrooms was always hot…& we were a family of 5…3 of which are teens. Would highly consider to book the same place again if I ever visit Milan.
What could be improved: Bath soap – shampoo, body wash, body lotion was available but we love the foamy ones… Carrefour was available within 5 mins & 'problem' was solved in a jiffy…so actually there wasn't anything we didn't like 😊Beautiful and big apartment in the heart of Milano – Sonia from Spain – 15 April 2025 (9/10)
