First Impressions

Walking up to Bocconi Apartment on Via Guglielmo Röntgen, you’ll find yourself in one of those quietly residential pockets of Milan that feels surprisingly peaceful for being so close to everything. It’s a three-star setup that doesn’t try to be fancy — and honestly, that’s part of its charm. The building itself is typical Milanese residential architecture, and you’re staying on the piano terra (ground floor), which means no wrestling with luggage up narrow staircases.

The Space

This is an apartment rental rather than a traditional hotel room, so you get that homey feeling that’s hard to find in standard hotels. The space feels lived-in but well-maintained, with a functional kitchen that actually has everything you need if you want to grab groceries from the nearby Esselunga and cook breakfast. I mean, Milan’s café culture is incredible, but sometimes you just want coffee in your pajamas, you know?

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about this area — you’re in Milan City Centre but not drowning in tourist crowds. The Bocconi University is literally around the corner, which means the neighborhood has that student energy with plenty of affordable spots to eat. You can walk to Porta Romana in about ten minutes, and from there the metro connects you to Duomo, Navigli, or wherever else you’re headed. There’s actually a Carrefour Express right down the street, which saved me more than once when I needed basics.

Getting Around

The beauty of staying here is that you’re close enough to walk to major sights but far enough out that you feel like you’re experiencing real Milan life. Porta Romana metro station becomes your best friend — it’s on the yellow line that takes you straight to the cathedral district. I walked to the Navigli canal area one evening, and it was maybe a 20-minute stroll through neighborhoods where locals actually live and work.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t going to wow you with marble lobbies or fancy amenities, but that 7.9 rating reflects something important — it delivers exactly what it promises. You get a clean, comfortable base in Milan with your own space to spread out. The apartment setup means you can live a bit more like a local, maybe pick up some amazing Italian ingredients and try cooking. Plus, there’s decent parking nearby if you’re brave enough to drive in Milan (though honestly, I’d stick with public transport). It’s the kind of place that works especially well if you’re staying more than just a night or two and want somewhere that feels less transactional than a typical hotel.

Milan’s apartments welcome long stays with terrace views, museum access, and bike paths to hidden Leonardo da Vinci sites.

  What could be improved: The problem I had with the property was that the beds weren’t comfortable and it said that it was for 3 people but in fact both of the beds were very small.

  Location is great,tram 15 to duomo and buses are just around the corner,very accesible once familiarise yourself with the place. Plenty of restaurants in the area.The apartment is aesthetic and everything you need is available. Wifi is fast and the place is quiet. Definitely will book again when we visit Milan next year.
  
  What could be improved: Need a simple instruction to use the washing machine as we can’t figure out the spin dryer.. or maybe it doesn’t have one? no TV ?? Need to have a What’sApp to be able to communicate with the owner.. which made me force to sign up with WA..but it is essential so i have no choice..😆..but this are just a small thing compared to the comfort we have during our stay. Still 👍👍

  Мы провели две ночи в апартаментах в Милане, и в целом остались довольны. Квартира была чистой и уютной, однако у нас возникли некоторые замечания.
  
  What could be improved: Кровать для двух человек оказалась слишком маленькой, что создало определённый дискомфорт. Также стоит отметить, что с балкона не открывался хороший вид, а окна нельзя было открыть из-за неприятного запаха от мусорных баков, стоящих снаружи.
  
  Кроме того, мы были разочарованы тем, что при бронировании сборы и налоги указывались отдельно, что существенно увеличивало общую стоимость проживания. Было бы логичнее включить все эти расходы в окончательную цену. Например, в счёт входили:
  
  • Плата за уборку: 50 евро за всё время проживания;
  • Плата за газ: 5 евро за ночь;
  • Плата за воду: 5 евро за ночь;
  • Сервисный сбор: 5 евро за всё время проживания;
  • Плата за полотенца: 30 евро за всё время проживания;
  • Плата за электричество: 5 евро за ночь;
  • Плата за постельное бельё: 30 евро за всё время проживания.
  
  В целом, квартира неплохая, но, учитывая указанные недостатки, рекомендую будущим гостям обратить на это внимание.

  What could be improved: Very rude and very noisy Neighbour (after midnight till morning). We could not sleep all night! Balcony looking at the Trash Bins of the whole building with bad trash smell. We booked for 3 nights but could not stay after the first night and ran away. Despite all the negativity, our host was kind, but our experience was a disaster.

  The owner of the apartment is very friendly and answered all our requests. It was clean and comfortable, with a kitchenette, perfect for a family of 3. Just a minute away from bus / tram stops to the centre. AC worked fine and place is comfortable to stay in.
  
  What could be improved: Everything was ok. The bed is small for 2 adults, so you need to sleep on the sofa bed.
