Here’s what I love about staying here — you’re literally a ten-minute walk from the famous Navigli canals, but you’re not dealing with the chaos that comes with being right on top of them. Milan can be overwhelming, but this spot gives you breathing room while keeping you connected. The Porta Genova metro station is close enough that you can hop over to the Duomo or Brera without much fuss, but you also get to experience this more residential side of the city that most tourists miss.

The Room Experience

My room was smaller than what you’d find in American hotels, but that’s Italy for you — and honestly, it worked. The design is clean and modern without being cold, and they’ve got those little touches that matter. Good lighting for actually reading, decent Wi-Fi, and — this surprised me — genuinely comfortable beds. The bathroom was compact but well thought out, with a proper shower that had decent water pressure.

Neighborhood Life

What really sold me on this place was stepping outside in the morning. There’s this local café about two blocks away where I watched the same group of older Italian men have their espresso and animated discussions every single day. You know what I mean — that authentic Milan rhythm that you just can’t get in the touristy areas. The evening walk to the Navigli for aperitivo becomes this nice ritual, and coming back to Casa Navigli feels like returning to your temporary Milan home rather than just another hotel room.

Look, this isn’t the fanciest place in Milan, and it’s not trying to be. But if you want to feel like you’re actually staying in the city rather than just visiting it, Casa Navigli nails that balance. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work — they’ll point you toward that little trattoria that doesn’t have an English menu but serves incredible risotto, or tell you which tram to take to avoid the tourist crowds. It’s that kind of place where you end up extending your stay if you can, not because it’s perfect, but because it just feels right.

  The location was very good, beautiful and picturesque.
  I went on a weekend and on Sunday next to the canal there was a market with local products.

  The property is very clean and comfortable. It is spacious and had everything needed for a longer stay. This property is great value.
  
  What could be improved: The door key is difficult to use and when checking out it was slightly confusing as we actually had to go open the gate and hold before leaving the key back to the room.

  Location was near a tram line, although a 10 min walk from the Metro station. Evening were quite happening at the nearby riverfront.

  Lovely. Very organized and clean. Lots of amenities. She met us and allowed us to leave our luggage earlier than check in. We were able to use the washing machine to clean clothes. The fridge was stocked with complimentary waters and there were some snacks as well. We did struggle with the air conditioner but there was a fan that did the trick. There weren't big towels but a lovely bathrobe did the trick. When exciting on check out day you have to keep out run to the apartment leave the key then run out the gate.. we laughed about it. Overall lovely stay would stay again!
