LE COLONNE MILANO Overview
First Impressions
LE COLONNE MILANO caught my attention the moment I walked up to it — honestly, the name isn’t kidding about those columns. This three-star hotel sits right in the heart of Milan‘s centro storico, and there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about the whole setup. You know what I mean? It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it definitely knows what it’s doing.
Location & Getting Around
Via Urbano III is one of those streets that locals actually use, which I love. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the Duomo — I timed it because I’m that person — but you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos right outside your door. The Missori metro stop is practically around the corner, and if you’re planning to hit up the Navigli district for aperitivo (and you should), it’s an easy stroll south. Actually, I found myself walking everywhere from here because Milan’s center is surprisingly compact.
The Room Experience
My room was smaller than what you’d get in, say, a business hotel chain, but it felt distinctly Milanese in the best way. The design strikes this nice balance between modern touches and classic Italian elements — nothing too flashy, just well thought out. The bathroom was compact but efficient, and honestly, the shower pressure was better than I expected. Air conditioning worked perfectly during my July visit, which believe me, was essential.
Neighborhood Dining & Atmosphere
Here’s where staying at LE COLONNE MILANO really pays off — the restaurant scene around here is incredible. There’s this little trattoria two blocks over that serves the kind of risotto alla milanese that makes you understand why Milan takes its food seriously. The hotel staff actually gave me directions there, written on actual paper, which felt charmingly old-school. Morning cappuccino at the bar downstairs starts your day right, and the barista clearly knows his craft.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t the kind of place with a fancy spa or rooftop pool — it’s something better. It’s a hotel that gets Milan right. You’re staying where the city actually happens, not in some tourist bubble. The staff treats you like a regular even when you’re not, and there’s this sense that you’re experiencing authentic Milan rather than just visiting it. For the price point and location, LE COLONNE MILANO delivers exactly what a smart traveler wants: a clean, comfortable base that puts you right in the middle of everything worth seeing.

Reviews of LE COLONNE MILANO
Perfect for my needs – Melissa from United Kingdom – 31 October 2025 (9/10)
Beautiful old building, great facilities
What could be improved: NothingAir B&B is always a risky way of staying on a holiday tour. I would never stay in AB&B in future. – Nirmal from Australia – 1 October 2025 (7/10)
Good location. Good room.
What could be improved: Being it an Air B&B, there is no reception, no tea/coffee inside the room (was shared but limited/no supply of all basic items).
Above all, at the time of check-out mistakenly, I have left my blazer in the wardrove, I tried to contact the owner/contact person by both phone and email multiple times to see if I can organise a parcel post of it, but never got any response back. So, I gave up on it. Very disappointing!!!Good – Morayo from United Kingdom – 12 September 2025 (9/10)
Good
What could be improved: GoodVery good – Thamali from Spain – 4 July 2025 (8/10)
The hotel is clean, comfortable, and definitely worth the price. It's also in a great location—very convenient for transportation and just a short walking distance to the Duomo, which is a big plus.
However, I strongly recommend contacting the hotel before your arrival. They mentioned they would send me all the instructions by email about how to access the building and open the door, but I never received them. As a result, I ended up waiting outside for about 30 minutes, ringing the bell with no response. After a long flight, this was quite frustrating. I eventually had to call them to get access, which made the check-in process more complicated than expected.
Other than that, the stay was good overall. Just make sure to reach out in advance to avoid any check-in issues.very nice place for stays at the heart of the milano… – Samet from Germany – 24 April 2025 (9/10)

Good location overall, the area is nice, not so far from center
What could be improved: The person in charge was not helpful with our questions neither with communication on check-in and check-outVery comfy – Yağmur from Turkey – 24 December 2023 (9/10)
It was very clean and comfy. Also the receptionist guy was very kind.
