Casa Orione Overview

First Impressions

Casa Orione sits on a quiet residential street in the Navigli district, and honestly, you might walk past it if you’re not paying attention. It’s not trying to impress you with a flashy facade — instead, this three-star hotel feels more like stepping into someone’s well-kept Milanese home. The entrance is understated but warm, with that particular Italian attention to detail that shows up in the tile work and the way the small lobby is arranged.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about staying in Navigli — you’re actually living like a local rather than being stuck in the touristy center. Via Torricelli is residential enough that you’ll see neighbors walking their dogs and picking up groceries, but you’re literally a ten-minute walk from the canal-side aperitivo scene. The Porta Genova metro station is close enough that getting to the Duomo or anywhere else in Milan is straightforward, but you get to come home to a neighborhood that feels real.

The Room Experience

My room was compact but thoughtfully laid out — I mean, this is Milan, so space comes at a premium everywhere. What impressed me was how they managed to fit everything you need without it feeling cramped. The bed was comfortable enough for a solid night’s sleep, and the bathroom, while small, had good water pressure (trust me, that matters after a day of walking around the city). The decor is simple and clean, nothing fancy, but it works.

Daily Rhythms

The breakfast situation is pretty typical for a hotel this size — continental style with decent coffee and pastries. What I actually appreciated more was the front desk staff, who seemed to genuinely know the neighborhood. They pointed me toward a local restaurant that I never would’ve found on my own, and gave me the kind of walking directions that only come from people who actually live here. There’s no fancy spa or elaborate amenities, but sometimes you just want a clean, comfortable place to sleep between exploring.

Why Guests Love It

Look, Casa Orione isn’t going to wow you with marble lobbies or rooftop pools. But if you want to experience Milan from a real neighborhood base without paying premium prices, it delivers exactly what it promises. The Navigli location means you’re close enough to the action but far enough away to get some peace. For a three-star place, it punches above its weight in terms of cleanliness and service — and honestly, isn’t that what really matters when you’re spending most of your time out exploring the city anyway?

  • Exceptional – Sirawanan from Thailand – 23 July 2025 (10/10)

I have been staying here for about two weeks to attend my summer course, and this place feels like my safe zone. The location is excellent, as I can walk to the university and get to the supermarket quickly. It’s also very easy to get around.

What could be improved: I think the hanger in the bathroom are to high for me.

What could be improved: Está a 1 hora y 30 minutos andando desde la terminal de autobuses.

  • Lokalizacja biała pościel i ręczniki – Jadwiga from Poland – 31 May 2025 (10/10)

    What could be improved: –

  • Very poor – Talita from Brazil – 7 May 2025 (2/10)

Localização boa. O resto tudo é ruim. Não indico.

What could be improved: Anfitrião extremamente ríspido, beirando a grosseria. O prédio nao tem elevador e nao tem nada informando a ausência do elevador. Escadas ruins, falta de identificação da luz da sala. Caro pela pouca estrutura que entrega.

  • Very good – Montanarila from Italy – 20 March 2025 (8/10)

  • Passable – Miska from Albania – 4 March 2025 (5/10)

  • Exceptional – Nikolay from Bulgaria – 22 February 2025 (10/10)

Very cozy little apartment in navigli area. Close to supermarket and the tramp that leads to the center. The host is very cool and quick responder.

  • Pleasant – Annalisa from Italy – 5 January 2025 (6/10)

Buona posizione per raggiungere il centro

What could be improved: Appartamento molto piccolo, adatto a persone di piccola statura. Non ci e stato spiegato niente sul funzionamento e sulla dislocazione dei servizi presenti nell' appartamento. Un minimo di spiegazioni ci vorrebbero.
