RED RIBBON Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to RED RIBBON on Via Privata Francesco Koristka, you might wonder if you’ve stumbled onto a movie set. This four-star boutique hotel sits tucked away in the Sempione district, and honestly, it feels like discovering a well-kept secret that locals would rather not share with tourists. The entrance has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream for attention — which I actually appreciate in a city like Milan where everything seems to compete for your eyes.
The Sempione Advantage
Here’s what nobody tells you about staying in Sempione — you’re basically living like a Milanese person would. The Parco Sempione is literally a few minutes’ walk away, and I mean the real deal, not some tourist trap version of a park. You can grab your morning coffee from the local bar around the corner (they make it better than most hotel lobbies anyway) and watch the city wake up. The Castello Sforzesco becomes your neighborhood landmark, which sounds fancy but actually just makes getting around really easy.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had this modern-meets-industrial vibe that somehow worked perfectly. Large windows let in plenty of natural light, and the bed was one of those where you actually sleep well instead of just surviving the night. What caught me off guard was how quiet everything was — you’d think being in Milan means constant noise, but this little street stays surprisingly peaceful. The bathroom felt more spacious than expected, with good water pressure (trust me, this matters more than you think when you’re exploring the city all day).
Dining and Local Scene
The hotel doesn’t try to be everything to everyone, which I respect. There’s a cozy restaurant on-site that serves solid Italian classics without the tourist markup you’d find near the Duomo. But honestly, the real win is being in a neighborhood where locals actually eat — you’ll find family-run trattorias and aperitivo spots that feel authentic rather than performed. I spent more time exploring the area’s dining scene than staying in the hotel, which is exactly how it should be.
Why Guests Love It
RED RIBBON gets it right by not trying too hard. With an 8.4 rating, it’s clearly doing something that resonates with people who want a genuine Milan experience without sacrificing comfort. You’re close enough to the action but far enough from the chaos, staying in a place that feels more like a stylish friend’s guest room than a corporate hotel. The Sempione area gives you easy access to both the historic center and the trendy Brera district, but you get to return somewhere that actually feels like a neighborhood rather than a tourist zone.

Reviews of RED RIBBON
Good location in the nice part of Milano – Marcin from Poland – 16 November 2025 (9/10)
Location, size and equipmemt
Good choice for 2-3 nights – Olena from Ireland – 28 October 2025 (8/10)
Close to metro and centre. Easy to go by walk to a beautiful park and lots of cafes and markets around
What could be improved: Noisy in night from the street but we were on 1st floorNice place, great rooms – Ioana from Romania – 7 July 2025 (9/10)
I liked the place, the facilities, the design, that it was pretty clean and the staff was really nice with us. I liked that we had the possibility to leave our luggage there before the check in and after the check out
What could be improved: I didn't like the fact that they didn't clean every day. We told them once that there was no need, but after that, they didn't come again till the end of our stayVery good – Katrina from Australia – 3 June 2025 (8/10)
A very spacious and comfortable apartment, perfect for my stay as travelling for work. Great neighbourhood location with a supermarket a couple minutes walk down the road, a range of restaurants and a gelato shop nearby. Street markets on Saturday and Tuesday morning just outside the property. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Would book again for my next stay if I need to stay near MiCo Convention Centre – Jurgita from United Kingdom – 21 May 2025 (8/10)
Location for me was great as it is in a walking distance from MiCo Convention Centre. There is a supermarket and metro station minutes away. The room was simple, but you have all you need for the stay.
What could be improved: The drain smell was a bit disturbing, but I knew this was a possibility reading other people reviews. So it was my choice to risk when I was booking this property.Very good – Milica from Serbia – 23 April 2025 (8/10)
The accommodation is neat and clean, the bed is comfortable. Clean and tidy bathroom, clean towels, there are baths, hair shampoo and conditioner, the only drawback is that there were no disposable slippers in the room, but nothing terrible, and one more thing, which didn't bother us so much, on Saturdays and Tuesdays there is a market on the street where the hotel is located, so it can be noisy, but that wasn't too bad for us because we were mostly outside. Tram and metro are near the hotel, it is easy to get to the city center. Take care of transportation and their control, they target foreigners with intent and write fines. Be sure to get transport tickets for the days you stay in Milan. The city as such could do more with signs and road signs in English, because after all it is a tourist place. Recommendation for the hotel, the people are hospitable and explain everything to you and make arrangements with you before arriving at the hotel, the plus is that you can leave your luggage if you have an earlier or later flight. In the end, it was nice to stay in Milan.
Good apartment – Rajesh from United Kingdom – 23 August 2024 (8/10)
Convenient location in city centre, excellent appartment, flexible check in options, clean environment
Very nice and comfortable for family. Easy checkin facilities for late check in. – Thuy from United Kingdom – 5 August 2024 (8/10)
Very clean , location and easy to communicate to host.
What could be improved: It would be more helpful to give more detail info around parking around the property warning about the market days etc.Amazing. – Ugnė from Lithuania – 9 July 2024 (9/10)
Good location, comfortable, cozy apartment.
Nice flat! – Nur from Turkey – 12 June 2024 (9/10)
Such a well designed and comfortable place to stay which is quite close to tram line that goes directly to Duomo in 15-20 minutes. The flat was very clean. We self checked-in but had no problems at all. There is a big supermarket near the flat and also 7/24 parking places. You might also find empty spots on the street other than Saturdays and Tuesdays because on these days there is a street market on that street.
What could be improved: The flat certainly needs a mirror. There are no mirrors other than the one in the bathroom. And maybe a coffee machine might be good.
