Castle Apartment near Duomo Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Castle Apartment near Duomo on Corso Magenta, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from the name — but this three-star place surprised me right away. The building has that classic Milanese elegance you see throughout the city center, and you’re literally a few minutes’ walk from the Duomo. The entrance feels more like a residential building than a typical hotel, which actually works in its favor.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re right in the heart of Milan without the tourist chaos that surrounds the cathedral area. Corso Magenta is this lovely tree-lined street where locals actually live and work, so you get a real feel for the city. The Castello Sforzesco is practically around the corner, and I found myself walking past it every morning just because it’s so close. You can reach the Duomo in about eight minutes on foot, but honestly, the neighborhood itself has plenty of cafés and shops worth exploring.
The Space
The apartment setup here is what sets it apart from your standard hotel room. Mine had a proper kitchenette — nothing fancy, but enough to make morning coffee or heat up leftovers from dinner. The space feels lived-in rather than sterile, with comfortable furniture and decent natural light from the street-facing windows. It’s not huge, but it’s thoughtfully arranged, and I actually appreciated having a little more space to spread out after long days of sightseeing.
Daily Life
What struck me most was how easy it became to settle into a routine here. There’s a small grocery store just down the street where I’d grab fresh pastries and fruit for breakfast — way better than any hotel buffet, if you ask me. The staff isn’t around 24/7 like at a traditional hotel, but they’re responsive when you need them, and check-in was straightforward. I mean, sometimes you just want to feel like you’re staying somewhere rather than just passing through, you know?
Why Guests Love It
This place works because it gives you the best of both worlds — you’re staying in central Milan without paying premium prices for a fancy hotel. The apartment-style setup means you can actually live a bit like a local, making your own coffee and coming and going as you please. Sure, it’s not going to wow you with amenities, but for exploring Milan on foot and having a comfortable base to return to, it’s honestly hard to beat. Plus, that location on Corso Magenta puts you within walking distance of pretty much everything you came to see.
Exploring Milan blends Renaissance art heritage, UNESCO landmarks, and vibrant neighborhoods glowing with golden-hour lights.

Everything was great, 100% recommended. I would repeat without hesitation.
What could be improved: Everything was great, 100% recommended. I would repeat without hesitation. It was alright but.. – Dominika from Slovakia – 16 October 2025 (6/10)
– The location was great, only 13mins of walking to the city centre (but as it had its ups, the downs were unfortunately beating it – i will explain later on)
– the building itself was awesome, had an italian vibe to it
– the owner ( or guide ) was very nice and made us feel welcomed
– a lot of towels, tea, coffee
What could be improved: – IT WAS SO LOUD, I was unable to get a good quality sleep due to outside noise throughout the whole night even tho we had all windows closed – they are old. We also heard people living around us talking, walking etc. We stayed for just one night so it was manageable but I wouldnt be able to stay there for more.
– someone else also commented on this : THE PILLOWS WERE SO HARD! The owner should really think about changing them.
– we only got a sheet to cover ourselves which was not comfortable, Im used to this at sea located apartments during the summer but not in october 😂 ( there was a large duvet cover but it didnt have any bed linen and I found hair on it so we obviously didn’t use it.)
– the fridge was a bit dirty
– all together the apartment looked like it wasnt well maintainedWalking distance to Duomo – Sonia from Portugal – 8 July 2025 (7/10)
Staff very friendly and always available to help.
Waking distance for Duomo and Castle.

What could be improved: I couldn’t contact to staff until check in time .
Even thought I send messages,they didn’t answer…and then at 3 o’clock when I asked to arrive … a staff called me …
There is only 2 small packages of hands wash and same toilet paper … no shampoo …
In the bedroom there is no wifi . We can use wifi only in living room.
The bed room is very noisy because of traffic and tram which pass until later night time .
We need ear plugs for sleep .Not happy – Saif from Jordan – 1 August 2023 (7/10)
Normal, the Srilankaian guy at the beginning was nice
What could be improved: The stairs as it's not mentioned, there is a dangerous and very small elevator.

Lovely apartment, clean and has all facilities. Air conditioning. Comfortable beds. Close to public transport. It has a lift
What could be improved: Terrible noise from traffic outside, the whole night( cars and trams) , not suitable for people afraid of heights.Nice centrally located apartment. – Sayeh from United Kingdom – 23 March 2023 (6/10)
Great location, comfortable bed, great coffee shop downstairs.
What could be improved: lift is very very slow, narrow steps often filled with bags of dirty laundry , wardrobe door was broken and just rested on the wardrobe, the toilet flushed for hours , very noisy street with trams at night.
