The building itself feels modern without being flashy, which I actually appreciated after staying in some overly ornate places elsewhere in the city.

Location & Getting Around

You know what’s great about the Porta Garibaldi area? It’s got this perfect mix of business district energy and residential calm. The Porta Garibaldi train station is just a short walk away, which means you can hop on the metro and be in the historic center in about fifteen minutes. I mean, you’re not exactly next to the Duomo, but that also means you’re not dealing with tourist crowds every time you step outside. Plus, the CityLife shopping district is practically on your doorstep — handy for both necessities and some serious retail therapy.

The Space

The apartment setup here is what really sets this place apart from typical hotels. Each unit comes with a proper kitchenette (not just a mini-fridge and hope), which honestly saved me a fortune on breakfast and late-night snacks. The room layouts are smart and functional — you’ve got space to actually live a bit, not just crash between sightseeing sessions. Everything feels clean and contemporary, though don’t expect design magazine aesthetics. It’s more about comfort and practicality, which worked perfectly for my four-day stay.

Neighborhood Life

What I loved most was stepping outside and feeling like I was in actual Milan, not tourist Milan. There’s a great little restaurant just two blocks down that serves incredible risotto — the kind of place where locals grab lunch and you hear more Italian than English. The morning routine here is something else: grab an espresso from the bar across the street, watch the business crowd heading to the towers, and you feel plugged into the city’s rhythm. The Bosco Verticale towers are right there too, which never gets old to look at.

It’s not about fancy amenities or concierge service — it’s about having a comfortable base in a genuinely interesting part of Milan.   The place was perfect for our stay. We had some concerns about the shared space with the other two apartments, but we didn't even hear the other people. Everything was fine, we had convenient transportation nearby and we really liked the neighborhood, there is everything we need nearby – supermarket, pharmacy, restaurants.
  
  What could be improved: The only drawback was the main door of the apartment, which opens with a code, there are difficulties there, even though the code was written correctly, it didn't open, it reported an error and every time we entered we sat for a few minutes before it unlocked.

  The apartment is very well located in Washington zone. There is about 10 minut walk to the Metro but the bus stop is very close. The room is located in a flat – there are together 3 rooms in the flat each with a separate door and key. The room is quite spacious.
  
  What could be improved: The kitchen is quite small with two electric stoves – the table is also very small whih makes it diffucult to have a proper meal. The biggest drawback is the bed – it is very uncomfortable, it is moving whenever you try to change position while sleeping. It seems like all the bed elements are loose so when you sit on the bed or lie down the other person who sleeps will feel like on a water bed or like on a ship during a stormy day 🙂
