Milan City Chic – Porta Venezia Overview
First Impressions
Milan City Chic – Porta Venezia caught me off guard in the best way possible. Tucked away on Via Tadino, this four-star gem sits in one of Milan‘s most authentic neighborhoods — and honestly, I wasn’t expecting something this stylish in what feels like a real residential area. The entrance is understated, but step inside and you’re hit with this perfect blend of contemporary design and Milanese sophistication.
The Neighborhood Discovery
Here’s what I love about staying in Porta Venezia — you’re actually living like a local. The morning ritual involves grabbing espresso at the corner bar where the barista remembers your order by day three. Corso Buenos Aires, one of Europe’s longest shopping streets, is literally around the corner, but it doesn’t feel touristy at all. You know what’s really convenient? The metro connection gets you to the Duomo in about 15 minutes, but you can walk to Brera or the fashion district if you’ve got the energy.
The Room Experience
My room was smaller than what you’d find in American hotels, but this is Milan — space is premium real estate. What they lack in square footage, they make up for in thoughtful design details. The bed was surprisingly comfortable (Italian hotels can be hit-or-miss on this), and the bathroom actually had decent water pressure. The soundproofing works well too, which matters when you’re on a busy street in the city center.
Daily Rhythms
Breakfast happens in this bright little space that feels more like a chic café than a hotel dining room. It’s continental style — good coffee, fresh pastries, the usual Italian morning spread. Nothing fancy, but honestly, most locals just grab a cornetto and cappuccino at the bar anyway. The staff here gets it right though — they’re helpful without being pushy, and several speak excellent English if your Italian is rusty.
Why Guests Love It
The 9.1 rating makes sense once you spend a few days here. It’s that sweet spot where you feel like you’re staying somewhere special without the pretension of the big-name hotels near La Scala. The value proposition really works — you’re getting solid four-star comfort in a location that lets you experience Milan beyond the tourist bubble. Plus, there’s something satisfying about discovering a place that feels like your own little secret in such a well-traveled city.

Great location and beautiful accommodation.
What an amazing space.
What could be improved: We just couldn't get the kettle to workGreat stay, convenient location. – Jungae from Switzerland – 16 July 2025 (10/10)
The unit was very spacious and clean. Having two separate full bathrooms was very useful for our group and we also loved the location. Just a quick walk to the metro that got us to the sites we wanted to see. AC also worked great, which was important for our group. Host was also very responsive.
What could be improved: The elevator in the building is tiny. Still worked fine for us but could be an important note for others.Exceptional – Evangelia from Greece – 7 July 2025 (10/10)
Everything about this stay was excellent! The self check-in process was super easy and convenient. The apartment was spacious, with a big kitchen fully equipped with all the amenities you could need. The flat was very quiet — no street noise at all — despite being in a vibrant area with lots of great restaurants just around the corner.
The location is perfect: very close to the metro and within walking distance to the train station. There are also some lovely local coffee shops nearby that we really enjoyed.
What could be improved: Nothing. Everything was perfect!Great flat great city – Ian from United Kingdom – 2 July 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: NothingPerfect spot centrally in Milano! fab appartment close to the central station. – Cecilia from Sweden – 23 September 2024 (10/10)
The appartment is absolutely fantastic!!! great location with walking distance from the central station. Nice area with shops and restaurants close by. We were in Milano for F1 at Monza so the location close to the central station was fab to be able to catch the train to Monza. The appartment is for sure city chic. Great space, two nice bathrooms, nice kitchen. Alex is a super host, very accomodating, quick to response. We had a great stay and can highly recommend.
Nice 2 bedroom place and great location. – Kelley from United States – 14 September 2024 (9/10)
comfortable place. two bedrooms on opposite side of large living area. great kitchen. close to lots of cafes. communicative host. huge tub that we didn’t use.
Booking.com took care of the issue right away. Thank you. – R from United States – 12 September 2024 (9/10)
Apartment is beautiful. Very large. Very clean.
What could be improved: I did not realize the owners in Europe would be contacting me. As I have been hacked it the past. I ignored them trying to contact me. This is a me issue not their issue. I will pay closer in the future to look for contact from owners when making reservations with Booking.com. A suggestion to to prepare the people making reservations with Bookingthat this may happen. My thought at this time is to book hotels in the future. Getting keys was a bit of a hassle.Great base to visit Milan and surrounding area. Easily accommodated the four of us and had all we needed – Dawn from United Kingdom – 2 August 2024 (10/10)
Well provisioned, great location – central but quiet
