Sigieri Residence Milano Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Sigieri Residence Milano on Via Sigieri, you might actually miss it at first — and that’s sort of the point. This four-star property sits quietly in the Porta Romana neighborhood, looking more like an elegant residential building than a typical hotel. The entrance has this understated sophistication that immediately tells you this place is different from the tourist traps closer to the Duomo.
The Neighborhood Feel
Porta Romana is honestly one of Milan‘s best-kept secrets for travelers who want to experience the city like locals do. You’re about a 15-minute metro ride from the main attractions, but here’s the thing — you’ll find yourself wandering the tree-lined streets just because they’re so pleasant. There are authentic trattorias within walking distance, and I mean the kind where you’ll hear more Italian than English at dinner. The Bocconi University area is nearby, so there’s this nice energy from students mixed with families who’ve lived here for generations.
Living Like a Local
What makes Sigieri Residence special is that it’s actually designed like serviced apartments rather than hotel rooms. Each apartment comes with a proper kitchenette — not just a mini-fridge and microwave, but a real setup where you can cook if you want to. The spaces feel genuinely homey, with separate living areas and bedrooms that give you room to spread out. You know what I appreciated? The washing machine in each unit, which is a game-changer for longer stays or when you’ve been walking Milan’s cobblestones all day.
Daily Life Here
The staff operates more like helpful neighbors than formal hotel personnel, which works perfectly for this kind of place. They’ll give you insider tips about which bakery has the best cornetti (it’s around the corner) or help you figure out the most efficient metro routes. There’s no traditional restaurant on-site, but honestly, that pushes you to explore the neighborhood’s dining scene — which is exactly what you should be doing in Milan anyway.
Why Guests Love It
This place hits that sweet spot between hotel service and apartment independence. Business travelers love it because they can maintain their routines — making coffee in the morning, having space to work, doing laundry when needed. Families appreciate having separate spaces so parents and kids aren’t tripping over each other. The 8.6 rating makes sense when you consider that guests consistently mention feeling like temporary Milan residents rather than tourists passing through. It’s not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but it’s genuinely comfortable in a way that makes you want to extend your stay.

First of all the location is perfect to visit Milano. In a nice lively area, and close to transportation. The Hotel itself had everything you could need, it was comfortable and clean. Our Balcony was also very appreciated.

Fantastic stay at the Residence! The location was peaceful and calm, a bit away from the city center but still convenient to get around with just a short walk to the Porta Romana Metro station. Nearby the Residence are a lot of local bars and restaurants, perfect for Aperitivo. The option to store luggage before and after check-in was incredibly convenient, and the friendly reception made the experience even better. The room matched the description perfectly—excellent value for the price.
