Foro Buonaparte – Red suite Castello Sforzesco Overview
First Impressions
When I first stepped into Foro Buonaparte – Red suite Castello Sforzesco, honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from an apartment-style stay right in the heart of Milan. But you know what? This three-star place completely surprised me. The red suite lives up to its name with these rich burgundy accents that somehow feel both dramatic and cozy at the same time.
Location Magic
Here’s the thing about staying on Foro Buonaparte — you’re literally a two-minute walk from Castello Sforzesco, which means you can pop over to see the castle whenever you want without dealing with crowds of tour groups in the morning. I mean, I actually found myself grabbing coffee and sitting in Parco Sempione before 8 AM, watching the city wake up. The Duomo’s just a pleasant stroll away through the Brera district, and trust me, that walk through those narrow cobblestone streets beats taking the metro any day.
The Space Itself
The apartment setup really works here — you get this proper sense of living in Milan rather than just visiting. The kitchen isn’t huge, but it’s got everything you need if you want to grab some fresh ingredients from the morning market near Brera (which, by the way, happens on Saturdays and is absolutely worth the early wake-up call). The room feels more spacious than typical Milan accommodations, probably because of those high ceilings that seem to be everywhere in this part of the city.
Daily Life Here
What I really appreciated was how this place lets you settle into a routine. There’s something about having your own space that makes exploring Milan feel less rushed — you can come back in the afternoon, maybe rest up a bit, then head out for aperitivo without feeling like you’re living out of a suitcase. The neighborhood has this perfect mix of locals and visitors, so you’ll find authentic spots for dinner (try the little trattoria two blocks down toward Via Dante) alongside the more tourist-friendly places.
Why Guests Love It
Look, if you want someone to make your bed every day and bring you fresh towels, this might not be your speed. But if you’re the type who likes to experience a city rather than just pass through it, this setup is pretty ideal. The location alone — being able to walk to Scala, the Quadrilatero della Moda, and still feel like you’re in a residential neighborhood — makes it worth considering. Plus, let’s be honest, parking in central Milan is a nightmare everywhere, but at least here you’re close enough to everything that you won’t need a car anyway.

Everything since we got inside the building and then to the apartment it was so pretty and clean..Very comfortable and very well organized!!!
What could be improved: Everything was perfect!Good location but a lot smaller than in photos.its just a room with a small kitchen – David from United Kingdom – 10 September 2025 (6/10)
Location was good
What could be improved: We thought it was a bedroom with separate living area but it’s just a room with a small kitchen. Shower is a disaster. More water goes outside the shower cabinet than in and it is pretty small. The city view is a brick wall. Bathroom sink is slow draining as is blocked. The Hoover when switched on stinks so bad.普通のアパートで落ち着けました。 – Takaaki from Japan – 12 August 2025 (9/10)
全て必要なものが揃っておりよかったです。
特に、洗濯乾燥機が部屋についていて、長旅には助かりました。
What could be improved: 最初入るとき、カギを入手するまでとても苦労しました。日本人は普段使ってないWhatsUpでメッセージをくれていたのですが、それに気づかず何度か電話をすることになりとても不安でした。
また、エクストラベッドの角がカバーなく剥き出しになっていたため、スネをあてて怪我をしました。Pleasant – Andrii from Iceland – 29 June 2025 (6/10)
location is great. I asked to check us in earlier, the administrator did it. nice
What could be improved: It was dirty there. The drains were clogged.Nice apartment in a good location to enjoy Milan – Sarah from United Kingdom – 21 June 2025 (8/10)
Very helpful gentleman met us and gave access – good communication regarding the time we arrived. The apartment was smart and the building was very nice. The location was good to get about on foot to places we wanted to go.
Stunning! – Julija from Latvia – 15 May 2025 (10/10)

Dirty apartment, illegal requirements to collect personal data of all guests – K from Poland – 20 April 2025 (2/10)
Location
What could be improved: Very dirty apartment. The drain in the sink or shower is not working, and the walls are dirty.
It’s not possible to check-in untill you provide a lot of personal data of all guests as well as copy of docs. Personal data collected via strange website and without privacy notice and it’s mandatory requirement of the apartment owner. The data is collected illegal with no compliance with GDPRSuperb – Joy from Singapore – 1 January 2025 (9/10)
Excellent location, fully equipped house.
What could be improved: Everything is good.Good location but apartment need to do some upkeep and cleaning – Chen from Singapore – 29 August 2024 (7/10)
Location is good, near duomo, metro, and attractions.
After booked and paid, received email to request online check in with 8 pages of agreement need to sign, this is the 1st time experience my booking go through booking.com still have to sign contract but I think the host should remove this.
Nice renovation, modern design but the items seems like it haven’t been used for awhile.
The water source from basin beside our bed is YELLOWISH BROWN and we had to run it for a few minutes before it turned back to “normal” but we were so skeptical of the water we just avoided using that sink.
We tried to use the drying function from the Washer-Dryer machine and E11 error came up. We contacted the Airbnb host friend at around 23:00 and he guided us to look up the instruction manual ( which not in apt) or Googled to check and it mentioned some dryer circuit issue but we are not technicians so we didn’t bother and stop using. Shower area is very small thus we knock our head.
Air-conditioning is from the floor. We set the temperature to 18 degrees and it was still warm. We suspect is the dust in the aircon ventilator that caused the cold air to be trapped and so room was not cold.
Do bring own body wash and shampoo if stay more than a day.
We stay for 3 nights and they only gave us 1 small bottle of shampoo, soap and lotion each 50ml. Ridiculous.
What could be improved: Need to sign 8 pages of rent contract, small apartment and very quiet, we stay for 3 nights never see anyone in the building. Not enough body wash and shampoo provide thus we need to search and buy. We come back from tour almost 8pm, all shops closed
