When I first walked up to the building, I’ll admit I wasn’t expecting much from a three-star place — but honestly, this loft completely changed my perspective on what you can get without breaking the bank in Milan.

The Space

The room itself is what really got me. It’s got that industrial loft vibe with exposed beams and high ceilings that make the space feel way bigger than it actually is. You know what I love about these converted spaces? They’ve got character that you just can’t find in standard hotel rooms. The layout is smart too — there’s a proper seating area where you can actually relax, not just perch on the edge of a bed.

The kitchenette is surprisingly well-equipped for such a compact setup. I mean, you’re not going to be hosting dinner parties, but for making coffee in the morning or heating up leftovers from that amazing trattoria down the street, it works perfectly. The whole place feels more like staying in a friend’s cool Milan apartment than a typical tourist accommodation.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s where this place really shines — the location is actually fantastic. You’re about a 10-minute walk to Porta Garibaldi, which puts you right in the thick of Milan’s business district and nightlife scene. The Corso Como area is practically next door, and if you’ve never wandered those streets in the evening, you’re missing out on some of the city’s best energy.

The metro connections are solid from here too. Garibaldi station gets you pretty much anywhere you need to go, and honestly, walking to the Duomo takes maybe 25 minutes if you’re up for it. Sometimes I actually preferred the walk — you get to see parts of Milan that most tourists rush past on the subway.

Practical Details

What surprised me most was how quiet it gets at night, despite being so central. The street doesn’t get much through traffic, so you can actually sleep with the windows open in warmer weather. The building itself feels secure, and check-in was straightforward — no fuss, no waiting around in lobbies.

The WiFi works well (always a concern in older buildings), and there’s decent parking nearby if you’re brave enough to drive in Milan. Though honestly, I’d skip the car entirely — this neighborhood is perfect for walking and public transport.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t going to wow you with a fancy spa or room service, but that’s sort of missing the point. What GoHost delivers is an authentic Milan experience without the typical tourist hotel markup. You’re staying in a real neighborhood, in a space with actual personality, close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the chaos to feel like you’ve got your own little corner of the city.

For the price point, especially considering Milan’s reputation for expensive accommodation, this place offers genuine value. It’s perfect if you want to experience the city like someone who actually lives here, rather than just passing through.

  Ferienwohnung hat eine besondere Atmosphäre. Alle notwendigen Utensilien in der Küche und der Wohnung waren vorhanden. Die Räumlichkeiten waren sehr ansprechend dekoriert. Als Basis für die Erkundung der Stadt sehr gut geeignet, da die Innenstadt fußläufig erreichbar ist.

  L'appartamento è stupendo, nuovo, finiture molto belle e di gusto. Letti comodi, biancheria pulita, kit di benvenuto per il bagno delizioso, 2 bottigliette d'acqua in frigo al nostro arrivo super gradite. Il bagno è spazioso, la doccia ampia, carina l'area armadio/cabina armadio vicino al letto al primo piano anche se non comodissima per lunghi soggiorni. Ottimo per 4 persone per poche notti, forse un po' piccolo per soggiorni lunghi. Non abbiamo usato la zona cucina, né le stoviglie quindi non so se sia ben attrezzato.
  La comunicazione è stata efficace e il gestore super gentile e disponibile a venirci incontro nelle richieste avanzate. Chiara e super dettagliata la comunicazione per il check in e per l'ingresso.
  L'appartamento è al piano terra e affaccia su una silenziosa corte interna.
  Un plus: a pochi passi un incantevole bar/gastronomia francese dove potrete fare una deliziosa, raffinata, dolce prima colazione!
  
  What could be improved: C'è qualche piccolo lavoro di manutenzione da fare (lampadina del bagno "ballerina"; doccione e doccino da decalcificare e sistemare; ringhiera delle scale non perfettamente fissata e altre piccole accortezze), ma nulla che abbia in qualche modo rovinato il nostro soggiorno.
  La ringhiera delle scale probabilmente non è sicura per un bimbo piccolo.
  La zona è ben servita dai tram, meno dalla metro (passa solo la nuova linea 4).

  L'appartamento in generale era molto bello. La posizione comoda e tutto molto pulito.

  Equiped kitchen very will, clean, 25 min walk to Duomo, parking in the street in front of the building. Dogs are welcome. Host very kind and helpful.
  
  What could be improved: In front of the only window are 3 large ventilation and air condition units that work all day and all night, so window can't be open because of loud noise. To let some fresh air in appartment, we kept the door open (courtyard side).

  Der Check-In Prozess wurde im Vorfeld online problemlos abgewickelt. Mit den Anweisungen per Mail war der Check-In vor Ort problemlos. Seitens des Vermieters war immer jemand erreichbar und ist bei div. Problemstellungen unterstützen zur Seite gestanden. Die Kommunikation war immer sehr professionell und freundlich. Die Lage des Apartments ist sehr zentral, man ist gleich mal im Zentrum.
  
  What could be improved: Ich persönlich fand den vorab Mailverkehr / Infofluss etwas zu viel. Ich habe sehr viele Mails/Booking.com notifications/Whatsapp Nachrichten von dem automatisierten Check-In System bekommen. Das waren immer lange Nachrichten mit vielen (scheinbar immer den gleichen) Informationen – ich habe dann irgendwann mal aufgehört die Nachrichten zu lesen, dummerweise habe ich dann überlesen, dass der Code bei der Schlüsselbox geändert wurde. Also vielleicht könnte man hier den vorab Infofluss etwas reduzieren und kurz davor einmalig die letztgültigen Infos rausschicken.
