The Navigli Experience

You know what’s great about staying here? You’re literally steps away from the famous Navigli canals, which means aperitivo hour is never more than a two-minute walk. I mean, you can practically roll out of bed and find yourself at one of those canal-side bars that locals actually frequent — not just the touristy spots. The neighborhood comes alive in the evenings, but it’s not so crazy that you can’t get a decent night’s sleep.

The Space Itself

The room setup is actually pretty smart for this type of accommodation. There’s a functional kitchenette that’ll handle basic meal prep if you want to save some euros or just need your morning coffee exactly how you like it. The space feels modern enough without trying too hard — clean lines, decent furniture, and everything you need without the clutter. Storage is adequate, though not generous, so pack accordingly.

Getting Around

What I really appreciated was how connected this place feels to the rest of Milan. The Porta Genova train station is close enough that you can easily hop on the metro and be in the Duomo area in about fifteen minutes. Parking can be tricky in this neighborhood — it’s Milan, after all — but there are options nearby if you’re driving. Most people I know just use public transport from here anyway.

The 7.6 rating makes sense when you consider what you’re getting for the price point. It’s not trying to be something it’s not — this is solid, no-nonsense accommodation in one of Milan’s coolest areas. The staff keeps things running smoothly, and while you won’t find a fancy spa or elaborate restaurant, you’re surrounded by some of the city’s best dining and nightlife options. If you want to experience Milan like someone who actually lives here rather than just passing through, this spot delivers on that promise.

  Our stay was absolutely exceptional! The apartment is spacious, very clean, and decorated with a wonderful sense of style. From the moment we walked in, it felt cozy and welcoming. The living area is bright and comfortable, with thoughtful decorative touches that create a really pleasant atmosphere.
  
  The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need — a kitchenette, utensils, cookware, a coffee machine, even a washing machine and an iron, which is a huge convenience for longer stays. The bedroom upstairs is very cozy, with a comfortable mattress and well-kept bedding, and the walk-in closet made organizing our luggage incredibly easy. The bathroom is modern and spotless.
  
  The location is excellent — the metro is only about a 5-minute walk away, making it very easy to get around Milan. The street itself and the area around Linea Traghetti Gaggiano–Milano are full of countless restaurants, cafés, and bars, so there’s always a great place to eat or grab a drink.
  Communication with the hosts was quick, clear, and very professional — everything was perfectly organized.

  What could be improved: My stay had several challenges. The bed was unfortunately quite uncomfortable, and the noise from the street was significant, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep. The biggest issue for me was the policy around the extra bedding. Despite requesting an extra bed that was listed as free of charge in the booking, I was informed upon arrival that sheets would cost an extra €15, even for a single day. This, combined with a host who was not particularly warm or accommodating, made the overall experience less comfortable than I had hoped for.
