Hbhall Porta Romana Apartment Overview
First Impressions
The Hbhall Porta Romana Apartment sits tucked away on a quiet street that feels authentically Milanese — you know, the kind where locals walk their dogs and grab morning coffee from the corner bar. It’s one of those four-star places that doesn’t scream “tourist accommodation” from the outside, which honestly made me second-guess the address when I first arrived. But that understated approach actually works in its favor.
Location & Neighborhood
Porta Vittoria isn’t exactly the postcard part of Milan, but that’s precisely why it works so well. You’re close enough to reach the Duomo in about 20 minutes by metro, yet far enough from the tourist chaos to feel like you’re living somewhere real. The Porta Romana metro station is a short walk away, and there’s this fantastic little market nearby where I watched nonnas haggle over vegetables — genuine neighborhood life that you miss in more central areas.
The Space
The apartment itself feels more like staying at a design-conscious friend’s place than a typical hotel. Each room has been thoughtfully put together without trying too hard — clean lines, good lighting, and those little touches that show someone actually cares about the space. The kitchenette is small but functional (I managed to make decent morning coffee), and there’s enough space to spread out your things without feeling cramped.
Daily Life Here
What struck me most was how easy it became to fall into a routine. There’s a solid restaurant just around the corner that serves proper Milanese risotto — not the touristy stuff — and the staff there started recognizing me after a couple of visits. Parking can be a bit tricky on the street, but there are options nearby if you’re driving. The whole setup just feels… practical, I guess, in the best possible way.
Why Guests Love It
This isn’t the kind of place where you’ll spend much time lounging around — and that’s exactly the point. It gives you a comfortable base to actually explore Milan like someone who lives there, rather than just passing through. The 8.5 rating makes perfect sense when you realize it’s doing exactly what it sets out to do: providing a real slice of Milanese life without the premium you’d pay closer to the center.

Reviews of Hbhall Porta Romana Apartment
Central and clean location in Milan! – Laura from Netherlands – 29 November 2025 (9/10)
The location was perfect, close to different tram lines and the metro station was 10 minutes walking. The studio was perfect for two, had a kitchen, small living room area with TV and separate bathroom and bedroom. It also had a washing machine which we could use. The check-in and key collection went smoothly, thanks to the early contact of the people who manage the apartment. We enjoyed our stay!
What could be improved: When we arrived the heating was very high and it was too hot! It was a bit confusing because the thermostat had signs of "do not touch" , but after I contacted via whatsapp to one of the managers, he told me it was fine to adjust only the temperature. Apart from that, everything was great!Lindo apartamento. – Dario from Uruguay – 20 November 2025 (10/10)
Buena ubicación, lindo apartamento, amplio y cómodo.
What could be improved: Andaba muy mal el Internet.Lovely place – Mellifera_havockus from Serbia – 8 November 2025 (10/10)
The place is great, the kitchen is well-equipped, hot water is available (unlike my general Italy experience 🤣), the bed is comfortable, location is connected with public transportation and the most important tourist attractions are up to 30 minutes on foot.
What could be improved: The internet was really bad, mostly unusable.Superb – Jozefina from Bulgaria – 27 October 2025 (9/10)
Very good location – close to undergroud and bus station, also from a walking distance to the city center and main atractions. The host is kind and helpful. The apartment is tidy, clean and very well equipped.

What could be improved: NothingPleasant – Anonymous from Ireland – 10 July 2025 (6/10)
The apartment was clean and comfortable. It is about a 15 minute walk to the metro which will take you to all the main sights in Milan. The remote host Chiara was helpful and responded to calls and texts quickly.
What could be improved: The door was very stiff from when we arrived. I could never unlock it. My boyfriend would also have to push really hard to get it to open. The key ended up breaking. We got a new one. We later got locked inside the apartment as the door handle disattached from the door. We were waiting an hour and a half for someone to come and fix it and so we missed our dinner reservation which was quite disappointing as it was our last night in Milan. Would’ve rated higher if it weren’t for the door issuesAmazing flat in quiet district – Григор from Poland – 6 July 2025 (10/10)
Our stay in apartment was really pleasant. It is well-equipped and we found water in the fridge and coffee for coffee machine. Washing machine is also very useful especially in summer. It takes 25 minutes to get to all sightseeing by tram
Peaceful and relaxing. – Treston from South Africa – 24 June 2025 (8/10)
Chiara was a very accommodating and helpful host. She was able to provide us with any extras that we needed. The location is great, in a quiet area just a short walk or tram from the centre.
What could be improved: The property had everything it needed. The building is old although like most apartment buildings in Italy.Would stay here again! – Bersabe from United States – 13 March 2025 (10/10)
I had a fantastic stay at this apartment in Milan! The location is unbeatable – just a five-minute walk to the metro, which made it incredibly easy to get to all the main attractions. The neighborhood is vibrant and full of life, with a variety of amazing restaurants offering everything from seafood and gluten-free options to Mexican, sushi, ramen, Argentinian cuisine, and much more. There are also many charming clothing stores and well-stocked grocery stores nearby, making it a perfect area to explore.
The apartment itself was very clean, cute, and spacious for two people. It had a lovely kitchen, which is perfect for anyone who enjoys cooking – I definitely appreciated that! The owners were absolutely wonderful. They were very responsive, always getting back to me quickly whenever I had a question or concern. Their friendly and attentive service made the experience even better. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Milan!
