First Impressions

Hotel Accursio sits on Viale Certosa in a quiet residential corner of Milan that most tourists never see — and honestly, that’s part of its charm. This three-star property doesn’t try to be something it’s not, which I actually found refreshing after dealing with so many places that oversell themselves. The building has that classic Milanese apartment block feel, but the moment you step inside, you realize someone’s put real thought into making this place work for travelers.

The Neighborhood Advantage

Here’s what you need to know about this area — you’re close enough to the action without being in the thick of tourist chaos. The Certosa metro station is literally a few minutes’ walk away, and from there it’s a straight shot to the Duomo in about 20 minutes. But the real win is having actual Milan around you: there’s a fantastic local market just down the street where I grabbed the best focaccia for breakfast, and the bars nearby serve proper aperitivo without the city center markup.

The Room Experience

My room was compact but cleverly designed — you know how some places feel cramped while others just feel cozy? This was definitely the latter. The bed was surprisingly comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and they’d actually thought about storage space, which is rare in European city hotels. The bathroom was small but functional, with decent water pressure and those little touches like good lighting that show someone cares about the guest experience.

Daily Rhythms

The breakfast situation is pretty straightforward — nothing fancy, but they do fresh pastries and proper Italian coffee, which is really all you need to start exploring Milan. I mean, you’re not coming to Milan to hang around the hotel anyway, right? The staff genuinely seems to enjoy helping guests figure out the city, and they gave me directions to places I never would’ve found otherwise. There’s also parking available, which if you’re driving in Milan, you’ll know is basically worth its weight in gold.

You’re not paying for marble lobbies or rooftop pools — you’re paying for a clean, comfortable base in a real Milan neighborhood with easy access to everything that matters. The 7.5 rating makes perfect sense when you consider what you’re actually getting for the price point. It’s the kind of place where you sleep well, start your day properly, and spend your money on experiences rather than hotel amenities you probably won’t use anyway.

  The room was spacious and cozy, and the bed was comfortable. It's also one tram line away from the city center and all the main attractions of the city! We also felt safe walking there at night. Additionally, we did park our car for free just next to the hotel, which was very convenient.
  
  Breakfast was also good, with a buffet style serving. It is a simple European breakfast, so cheese, ham, yogurts and bread. Additionally croissants and coffee were served.

  The hotel was nice and we were welcomed by a very kind receptionist, who was really helpful and even gave us a free upgrade on our room (she gave us a bigger bed as a couple). Everything was clean and all-over the stay was really nice. Only thing that we weren't satisfied with was the breakfast, which was only composed of only processes foods, almost nothing fresh, only effort they made was boil whole eggs and put out toast bread, ham and cheese. That was the only disappointment in our stay, other than that it was really nice :))
