Hotel Bolzano Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hotel Bolzano, you get that reassuring feeling of a well-run neighborhood hotel — nothing flashy, but everything where it should be. The lobby’s compact and tidy, with a small seating area that actually gets used by guests checking maps or waiting for taxis. It’s the kind of three-star place where the staff remembers your name after the second day, which honestly makes up for a lot.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I love about staying near Stazione Centrale — you’re not in the postcard-pretty center of Milan, but you’re ridiculously well-connected to everything. The hotel sits on Via Boscovich, just a few minutes’ walk from Milano Centrale station, which means Malpensa Airport is a direct train ride away. No dragging luggage through medieval streets or hunting for taxis at dawn when you’ve got an early flight.
The Room Experience
My room was on the fourth floor — small but thoughtfully laid out, with enough space to actually open your suitcase without doing gymnastics around the bed. The AC works well (crucial in Milan summers), and the shower has proper water pressure. You know what surprised me? The soundproofing is actually decent for a hotel this close to a major train station.
Practical Perks
The breakfast setup is simple but covers the basics — decent coffee, fresh pastries from a local bakery, and enough variety to fuel a day of sightseeing. There’s a small business corner in the lobby with a computer and printer, which saved me when I needed to print boarding passes. The front desk staff speaks solid English and genuinely seems to enjoy helping guests figure out Milan’s public transport system.
Why Guests Keep Coming Back
Hotel Bolzano works because it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. It’s a solid base for exploring Milan without the premium you’d pay closer to the Duomo. The Porta Garibaldi district with its modern towers and trendy bars is just two metro stops away, while the historic center takes about 15 minutes on the M3 line. For business travelers, the location is pure gold — walking distance to the station, reliable wifi, and a restaurant next door that serves proper Milanese risotto until late. It’s the kind of place where you sleep well, start your day efficiently, and don’t feel like you’ve overpaid for location.

What could be improved: Room very smallVery good – Adrian from Malta – 3 November 2025 (8/10)
Very close to train station
Very good breakfast with lots of goods
And also a helpful staffA good choice – Beatrice from Italy – 1 November 2025 (8/10)
The location of the hotel was very convenient for us. It was close to the Central train station and there were plenty of restaurants around the area that we could choose from. The staff were very nice and polite. I loved the breakfast area, it is very well done. The options for breakfast were also very good and plenty to choose from and delicious as well.
What could be improved: The room was good however the walls were not very sound proof so we could hear conversations from the guests in the next room. And I assume they could hear ours as well. But it was generally quiet most of the time.Clean, comfortable hotel in good location – Chris from Australia – 30 October 2025 (7/10)
Clean, comfortable hotel well located close to central train station and public transport
What could be improved: Small room, wi-fi was touch and go, and the hot water cut out completely on the morning I had to shower and check out.Superb – Maria from Australia – 21 October 2025 (9/10)
I was able to check in earlier than the stated time. Room was immaculate and clean. Location was great. Bed was comfy. Staff at reception desk all very helpful. I was only there for one night but felt like home. Comfortable and inviting.
Very good breakfast, strategic location, great receptionist – Zanchi from Spain – 15 October 2025 (8/10)
Breakfast and the receptionist, very kind
What could be improved: Bed smallOK hotel. Good location if you require access to the train station. Clean. OK breakfast. Overpriced – Claudia from Canada – 8 October 2025 (7/10)
The hotel is well appointed and clean. The only reason I did not give a higher rating for cleanliness is because there was visible mold in the shower area. The room itself was very comfortable. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Milano Centrale station.
What could be improved: When we arrived at Milano Centrale, I called the hotel to ask what was the best way to get there. The person suggested walking as the hotel is so very close… Google Maps was not helpful on that particular day and when I called back to ask for some directions the person I spoke to was either not interested in helping me or was trying to play me for a fool. After walking in circles for a while and finally finding some assistance on the street – we found the hotel which was indeed only 5 minutes from the station but not simple to find. When I confronted the person behind the desk about his rudeness and lack of assistance he made no apologies and told me it was my fault that I couldn't find the hotel. Hotel Bolzano can message me directly and I will provide more details along with his name. This hotel definitely exceeded our expectations. The location seemed far out on the map but it was the perfect location – Halle from Australia – 8 October 2025 (8/10)
The room was super spacious, and clean. The location was a bit out from the centre but was right next door to the Milano Centrale, making it super easy to walk to with our bags. And the metro at this station took 5 minutes to get to Duomo. The road the hotel is on has a nice restaurant section at the end of the street, with lots of good options.
What could be improved: Nothing, it was all great.Good stay in Milan – Michael from United Kingdom – 4 October 2025 (8/10)
Comfortable room and kind staff that were welcoming and helpful
