43 Station Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to 43 Station Hotel on Via Fabio Filzi, you immediately get that “this is exactly where I need to be” feeling. It’s literally a three-minute walk from Milano Centrale — I mean, you can practically roll your suitcase there without breaking a sweat. The building itself has that solid, no-nonsense Italian architecture that tells you it’s been here a while and knows what it’s doing.
Location That Actually Makes Sense
Here’s the thing about staying near Centrale station in Milan — most people think it’s just transit chaos, but this little pocket around Via Filzi is actually pretty livable. You’ve got the metro right there (yellow and green lines), which gets you to the Duomo in maybe 10 minutes. But honestly, what I loved was having that late-night kebab place around the corner and a proper grocery store when you need to grab water or snacks at reasonable prices.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was compact but smartly designed — they clearly understand that travelers want functionality over fancy frills. Clean lines, good lighting for actually reading the map or charging your devices, and a bathroom that doesn’t make you do contortionist moves to shower. The bed was firm (which I prefer) and the air conditioning worked without sounding like a freight train, which matters more than you’d think in summer.
What This Three-Star Gets Right
This three-star place doesn’t try to be something it’s not, and that’s refreshing. The staff at reception actually knew the neighborhood — when I asked about getting to Navigli for dinner, the guy didn’t just point vaguely but told me which tram to take and where to get off. The Wi-Fi worked everywhere, the elevator was reliable, and they had that unspoken Italian efficiency where everything just… functions.
Why Guests Love It
Look, you’re not coming here for Instagram moments or a rooftop restaurant — you’re coming because you want to sleep well, get around Milan easily, and not spend half your travel budget on accommodation. The 43 Station Hotel delivers exactly that. It’s the kind of place where you check in, drop your bags, and immediately feel like you can actually explore the city instead of being stuck in some remote location wondering how to get anywhere.

What could be improved: Receptionist very rude!
Perfect location to catch the train – Mathieu from Canada – 28 October 2025 (7/10)
Perfect location to catch the train
What could be improved: Small room. No coffee maker.Next to Centrale station, but a bit of a let down – Alison from United Kingdom – 16 October 2025 (8/10)
The location, if you need to be by Milano Centrale it is great, but not in the centre. The staff were super friendly
What could be improved: Our room was on the 7th floor, but I think all rooms are above the first floor, so the same thing applies. The first lift you use only takes you to the first floor, then you have to walk the length of thr building past / through the breakfast room to anothet lift to take you to your room. It's just a pain that you could do without the extra time wasted.
There wasn't a plug next to the bed, the one on a side wall near the bed wasn't working, the plug the furthest away worked, (had to unplug the fridge first) but my European converter wouldn't stay in, so had to drag the fridge over and wedge the fridge against the plug for it to stay in and charge my phone.
The WiFi wasn't great, not too bad in the room, but just outside the room, I wasn't receiving WhatsApp messages, they just showed the clock.
Two most important things are power and WiFi to get comms, this was lacking at this hotel, it certainly wasn't cheap at £200 per night for a single room, i would have expected more. It was fine, i was getting several friends in Milan, so didn't spend much time in the room, but it wasn't greatSuperb – Holly from New Zealand – 15 October 2025 (9/10)
Very close to train station, clean comfortable rooms. Staff were friendly, would stay here again
What could be improved: We only found we had issues with the sound proofing to the room next to usRecommend highly, tram right in front, felt like a safe area – Mark from United States – 12 October 2025 (9/10)
So this property is about a five minute walk from train station. Staff excellent. Was in room 611. Lady at front desk arranged taxi for us to airport following AM. There is also a little deli 2 doors down, food drinks, coffee local hangout with good vibe
What could be improved: Except for a couple of spots in the room that could use a touch up of paint all was great. Bathroom has soap, so if you’re looking for conditioner, palm oil, or body wash bring it.Good – Nada from Jordan – 29 September 2025 (7/10)
What could be improved: There’s no wifi in the room unfortunately
Good – Kristin from United States – 27 September 2025 (7/10)
Right next to train station, quiet, comfortable
What could be improved: Wifi, internet, air conditioning was all not working upon arrival, staff complained that owner must not have paid bills. Had to pay city tax in cash as a result.Location great and staff amazing – Rachel from United Kingdom – 25 September 2025 (9/10)
Fantastic location. Reasonable cost. Had a few issues with booked tickets and managed to get another night booked which was amazing. The front of house staff who i met – Martyna, Pearl and Valerio – were the nicest and most helpful people who gave me lots of information about how to get around and where to go and just nice general chats about life! Thank you to you all. Had a couple of problems with safe in room which was fixed immediately with no fuss thank you guys. And the breakfast guys too were lovely. Breakfast plentiful and lovely. Room cleaned and tidied every day. A great place to stay.
What could be improved: My room on 1st floor was a tiny bit close to the breakfast area and a little noisy in the early morning but as i am an early riser not a problem but worth remembering if you are not.
