You’re in Famagosta here, which I’ll be honest, isn’t exactly central Milan. But here’s what works: the Famagosta metro station is basically around the corner, and that green line will get you to the Duomo in about fifteen minutes. The neighborhood itself is pretty residential — you’ll see locals walking their dogs, picking up groceries, living actual life. There’s a decent restaurant called Osteria del Borgo just two blocks away that does solid Milanese classics without the tourist markup.

The Room Experience

My room was small but thoughtfully arranged — they’ve clearly worked hard to make the most of limited space. The bed was comfortable enough, and I appreciated the blackout curtains (Milan can get surprisingly bright in the mornings). What impressed me was how quiet everything stayed, even though you’re not far from the main road. The bathroom’s compact but functional, with decent water pressure and toiletries that don’t smell like industrial cleaner.

Daily Rhythms

Breakfast happens in a cozy ground-floor space that feels more like someone’s dining room than a hotel buffet area. It’s continental style — nothing fancy, but the coffee’s actually good, and they keep fresh fruit available. The staff here genuinely seems to care about getting things right, which you notice in small ways throughout the day. Parking can be arranged if you’re driving, though honestly, you probably won’t need a car once you’re settled in.

Look, Hotel Dei Fiori isn’t going to wow you with marble lobbies or rooftop pools. But it delivers exactly what it promises — a clean, comfortable base in Milan that won’t drain your budget. The 7.3 rating makes sense when you consider what you’re actually getting for the price. It’s the kind of place where you sleep well, start your day properly, then head out to explore the city. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need, especially in a place like Milan where you’ll spend most of your time wandering the streets anyway.

  The room was clean and quiet enough, and the staff was really friendly and helpful. The Wi-Fi worked as it should, and so did all facilities. Room service was unobtrusive. And, the Famagosta metro stop, as well as a large grocery store, were a mere 5-minute walk away. Overall, the experience was adequate for a business trip!
  
  What could be improved: It was not a big deal, but a bit of a surprise nonetheless: I had ants in the room. I notified the manager and the problem was swiftly dealt with on the very same day. In addition, this particular area of Milan is just not very nice. Lots of graffiti, garbage, a massive highway interchange right outside the door, and a few derelict, abandoned vehicles in the neighborhood.
