Hotel Zara Milano Overview
First Impressions
Hotel Zara Milano sits in the Bicocca-Zara district — not exactly the Milan you see on Instagram, but honestly, that’s part of its charm. This three-star spot feels more like a well-kept secret than a tourist trap, and after staying here, I get why locals seem to favor this area. The lobby’s clean and modern without trying too hard, which pretty much sums up the whole experience.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what surprised me about this part of Milan? It’s actually got this authentic, lived-in vibe that the centro storico sometimes lacks. Viale Zara runs through a neighborhood where you’ll find proper Italian cafés next to modern offices — it’s where the city’s actually working and living. The Bicocca area has really transformed over the past decade, and you’re close enough to the university district that there’s always something happening, but far enough from the tourist crowds that you can breathe.
The Room Experience
My room was straightforward in the best possible way — clean lines, comfortable bed, and a bathroom that actually had decent water pressure (trust me, this matters after walking around Milan all day). The windows are well-insulated, which you’ll appreciate since Viale Zara can get busy during rush hours. I mean, it’s not going to win any design awards, but everything works exactly as it should.
Practical Perks
The breakfast situation is solid — nothing fancy, but proper Italian coffee and fresh pastries that’ll fuel your morning properly. There’s parking available, which is honestly a godsend in Milan if you’re driving. The staff speaks decent English and actually knows the neighborhood well enough to give you real recommendations, not just the obvious tourist spots. They pointed me toward this incredible family-run trattoria about ten minutes away that I never would’ve found otherwise.
Why Guests Love It
Here’s the thing about Hotel Zara Milano — it delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. The 8.4 rating makes perfect sense because this place understands its role: comfortable, reliable accommodation in a genuinely Milanese neighborhood. You’re not paying for marble lobbies or rooftop bars, but you’re getting a proper night’s sleep and easy access to both the business districts and the city center via excellent public transport connections. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

Great location, hot showers, nice staff, great little breakfast with coffee, so close to the metro.
What could be improved: My shower leaked a little bit but I think that happens a lot in European hotels. No worries as I had my room cleaned between days.Very good – Kostić from Serbia – 8 November 2025 (8/10)
Very clean, helpful staff, delicious breakfast, near a metro station
What could be improved: A bit too expensive, a wardrobe without shelvesSuperb – Daria from Hungary – 28 October 2025 (9/10)
1. Location was great. We used direct metro line to the city center (there were also buses but we did not tried them), we walked to the main train station by foot. There was pharmacy and supermarket (PAM) nearby. Houses were small and cosy
2. There was a backyard with tables
3. Staff were very friendly and helpful
4. Breakfast was good with different options

Location was great
What could be improved: Smell from the drain in bathroom was killing us and shower doors weren’t working properlyA very pleasant stay with a great location and clean, comfortable rooms. – Inga from Latvia – 11 September 2025 (9/10)
We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The reception was warm and welcoming. The hotel is conveniently located close to a metro station and other public transport, with Milano Centrale Station within walking distance. Since we came to Milan to attend the F1 Monza GP, the location was excellent for getting to the station easily and returning in the evening without any hassle. The rooms were nice and cleaned daily, which made our stay even more comfortable.
Simple room, clean and comfortable – Dayab from Libya – 9 September 2025 (8/10)
Its location and the staff was nice
Good base to explore Milan and the local area. – Jason from United Kingdom – 3 September 2025 (9/10)
The room was clean, good soundproofing from outside traffic and the breakfast was just enough to get your day moving. Helpful staff, always on hand for advice on where to visit and how. Good location just on the outskirts of city but just a short walk away from the metro station that links with the M3 & M5, so easy to reach the main attractions of Milan. Garibaldi & Central train stations not far away. Some quite nice restaurants nearby, food prices reasonable.
What could be improved: Shower cubicle is a little smaller than what I’m used to but I’m being picky here.
