La mansarda sui Navigli Overview
First Impressions
La mansarda sui Navigli sits right on Via Vigevano, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better if you’re looking to experience the real Milan. This four-star place has that authentic Italian charm — it’s not trying to be something it’s not, which I actually appreciated. The building itself has character, and when you’re staying in what’s essentially a converted attic space (mansarda means attic in Italian), you know you’re getting something special.
The Navigli Experience
You know what makes this spot work? It’s literally steps away from the Navigli canals, which means you’re in the heart of Milan’s most vibrant nightlife district. I mean, you can hear the buzz from the aperitivo crowds in the evening, but it’s not overwhelming — more like a gentle reminder that you’re somewhere exciting. The area transforms throughout the day, from quiet morning coffee spots to bustling evening wine bars along the waterways.
The Space Itself
The room feels more like staying in a local’s stylish apartment than a typical hotel. There’s something about those slanted attic ceilings that makes the whole experience feel intimate and cozy. The design strikes that perfect balance between modern comfort and Italian character — you’ll find thoughtful touches that show someone actually cares about the guest experience. The windows let in great natural light during the day, which really showcases the neighborhood below.
Local Neighborhood Gems
What I loved most was how easy it became to slip into the local rhythm. There’s a fantastic restaurant scene within walking distance — not just the touristy canal-side spots, but genuine neighborhood places where locals actually eat. The Porta Genova area is right there, so you’ve got excellent transport connections when you need to venture into central Milan. But honestly, you might find yourself spending more time just wandering the canal paths than you planned.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.2 rating makes complete sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s one of those places that gets the details right — you feel like you’re experiencing Milan as it’s meant to be experienced, not from some sterile hotel bubble. The Navigli district has this incredible energy, especially in the evenings when the whole area comes alive with locals meeting for drinks and dinner. You’re not just visiting Milan, you’re actually living in one of its most characterful neighborhoods for a few days.

Reviews of La mansarda sui Navigli
Excellent location and value for money! – Adriana from United Kingdom – 23 October 2025 (10/10)
Excellent location, very convenient for both the metro (Porta Geneva) and Darsena/Navigli scene. The property is located on the top floor, so very quiet. Good layout with 3 separate spaces. Bathroom is small but well appointed with toiletries provided (nice touch). Comfortable bed with large storage space conveniently located off the bedroom.
What could be improved: Have not experienced anything bad.Great – Alan from United Kingdom – 15 October 2025 (10/10)
Location was great apartment stylish and clean.
Incredible location, the most wonderful host, and everything you might ever need to stay in Milano – Liatkouskaya from Belarus – 25 July 2025 (10/10)
Amazing location, walking distance from the most beautiful parts of the city, public transport is within a couple of minutes. Very clean and spacious, has everything you need, the instructions on how to find and enter the place are very very clear, it felt very safe. The air conditioning is amazing, and the view is exceptional. Bathroom facilities all work properly, the furniture is very comfortable and of good quality. There is a storage room as well, a great place to keep your suitcase. Cristina, the host, is incredibly nice and helpful, would share truly wonderful food recommendations and answer any questions in a timely manner. Overall, fantastic place to stay!
What could be improved: I banged my head a couple of times because the ceilings are not very high in some places, and I’m 173 cm, so maybe tall people should keep that in mind. But it is nothing compared to what an amazing place it is. I would have banged my head a 100 more times and still loved it, it is a perfect place to stay in Milano ✨Exceptional – Evgeniya from Cyprus – 4 July 2025 (10/10)
Wonderful accomodation in a nice neighbourhood. The Kitchen is fully equipped. The hosts are very nice people, always kept in touch. They provided a very detailed explanation how to get into the appartment.
A charming attic apartment in a great neighborhood – Elena from Russia – 25 June 2025 (10/10)
A charming attic apartment in a great neighborhood close to the city center: a full bedroom, kitchen, and living room. It’s true that openings and bathroom might feel a bit tight for tall or larger people, but we found it spacious and comfortable.
The air conditioning works well, the kitchen is well-equipped with dishes, and the cooking area is excellent (and very nicely designed, by the way)
