Via Cesare Balbo is one of those streets that locals actually use, which I love. You’re close enough to Porta Romana that you can easily walk to some fantastic aperitivo spots, but far enough from the tourist chaos around the Duomo that you can actually think straight. There’s a great little bakery about two blocks away that does incredible cornetti — the kind of place where you’ll see the same faces every morning.

The Room Experience

The rooms here strike that perfect balance between modern comfort and Italian character. My room had these beautiful hardwood floors and windows that actually opened (you know how rare that’s becoming?). The beds are seriously comfortable — I’m talking about the kind of sleep where you wake up confused about what time zone you’re in. The bathrooms are compact but well-designed, with rainfall showers that have proper water pressure.

Dining and Amenities

The breakfast spread is where Living Ravizza really shows its personality. It’s not a massive buffet, but everything they do offer is quality — fresh pastries, good coffee, and local ingredients that change with the seasons. The restaurant area doubles as a social space in the evenings, and I actually ended up chatting with other guests there, which doesn’t happen often in hotels. There’s also a small spa area that’s perfect for unwinding after a day of walking around Milan’s cobblestone streets.

What really sets this place apart is the staff — they know Milan inside and out, and they’re genuinely excited to share recommendations. They pointed me toward this incredible vintage shop in Brera that I never would have found on my own. The hotel manages to feel both professional and personal, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to experience a city like a local rather than just another tourist. You’ll leave feeling like you actually stayed in Milan, not just near it.
