Milan Retreats Overview
First Impressions
Milan Retreats caught me off guard in the best possible way. You know how most hotels near train stations feel a bit… well, transitional? This four-star property completely flips that script. The moment you step inside any of their locations around Milan‘s central station area, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually thought about what travelers need — not just a place to crash between connections.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s the thing about staying near Stazione Centrale — you’re basically at Milan’s transport hub, which sounds chaotic but actually works brilliantly. I could walk to the metro in minutes, catch trains to Lake Como without breaking a sweat, and honestly, getting to the Duomo took maybe 15 minutes by subway. The neighborhood has this authentic Milan energy that you miss when you’re stuck in the touristy center, plus there are these little Ethiopian and Chinese restaurants tucked everywhere that locals actually eat at.
The Apartments
What really sets Milan Retreats apart is how they’ve designed each apartment to feel like, well, an actual retreat. The room I stayed in had this perfect balance — modern enough that everything worked flawlessly, but with enough character that it didn’t feel sterile. The kitchen was genuinely functional too, not one of those tiny hotel kitchenettes where you can barely make coffee. I mean, I actually cooked dinner a couple nights, which saved money and felt surprisingly homey after long days exploring the city.
The Details That Matter
You know what impressed me most? The little things they get right. The Wi-Fi actually works everywhere, the shower has proper water pressure, and there’s decent parking available — which, if you’ve ever tried to park in central Milan, you’ll appreciate. The staff knows the area inside and out too; they pointed me toward this incredible aperitivo spot that I never would’ve found otherwise. Plus, the whole check-in process is refreshingly straightforward — no corporate nonsense, just helpful people who seem to actually care whether you have a good stay.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Milan Retreats isn’t trying to be the fanciest place in the city, and that’s exactly why it works so well. It’s for people who want to experience Milan like they live there, not just pass through. The 9.3 rating makes total sense when you realize how thoughtfully everything’s been put together. Whether you’re here for business, using Milan as a base for exploring northern Italy, or just want a proper apartment-style stay without the premium price tag, this place delivers exactly what it promises — and then some.
Early hotels booking in Milan secures opera tickets, rooftop bar nights, and private Italian cooking class sessions.

Very convenient stay close to everything we wanted to do in Milan including tour bus stops. Nice restaurants nearby
Great for family or small group – Stephen from United States – 17 November 2025 (10/10)
Close to Milan central station with lots of space. Two bedrooms one with queen and one with 2 twin beds. Large bathroom, kitchen and sitting/dining room so there is plenty of space.
Everything you need for a long stay was available but, since we only spent two nights we did not do any cooking. Plenty of restaurants around the area.
Downtown Milan is 4 or 5 stops on the metro which is a block away from the apartment.
Good location for anyone traveling around Italy by train and needs something close to the station.
What could be improved: Nothing – a minor thing, add some towel racks/hooks in the bathroom as there are none so towels were left hanging over doors to dry.
