I mean, you expect a decent four-star place in Milan, but this apartment actually feels like staying at a friend’s stylish pad rather than some cookie-cutter hotel. The moment you step inside, those two terraces become the star of the show — and honestly, they’re what set this place apart from everything else in the neighborhood.

Location & Getting Around

Via Caduti in Missione di Pace isn’t exactly a street tourists stumble upon by accident, but that’s actually what makes it perfect. You’re in a proper Milanese residential area where locals go about their daily business, yet you can still reach the Duomo in about 20 minutes by metro. The Rubattino area has this emerging vibe — sort of industrial-chic meets modern Milan — and you’ll find some surprisingly good coffee spots within walking distance. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, which is rare for a city this size.

The Space Itself

The room setup here is more like having your own Milan pied-à-terre than a typical hotel experience. There’s a proper kitchen that you’ll actually want to use (I picked up ingredients from the local market and made breakfast on one of the terraces — totally worth it). The design strikes this nice balance between contemporary and cozy, with enough space that you won’t feel cramped even if you’re staying for several days. Those terraces, though — one faces east for morning coffee, the other west for evening wine. Someone really thought this through.

What Makes It Work

You know what impressed me most? The little details that show someone cares about the guest experience. The Wi-Fi actually works everywhere (including both terraces), there’s decent parking nearby if you’re driving, and the whole place feels genuinely clean and well-maintained. The neighborhood has this authentic Milan energy — you’ll hear Italian conversations drifting up from the street, see locals heading to work in the morning, and get a real sense of what living in this city might actually feel like.

Couples especially seem to fall for this place, and I can see why — there’s something romantic about having your own terraces overlooking Milan’s rooftops.   Bella casa ampia spaziosa con ottima vista su Milano. Un po' carente la pulizia delle stoviglie. La tovaglia era sporca. Non vi erano canovacci per asciugare le pentole. Lo scarico del secondo bagno aveva il pulsante che rientrava nella cassetta dell'acqua. Non vi erano rotoli di scottex. Non vi erano bottiglie di acqua.

  The place is big and comfy, the neighbourhood was safe at night, there was Netflix and Youtube premium accounts. Wifi was excellent. There was big supermarket so close (Esselunga). There were great board games as well.
  
  What could be improved: The location is very disturbingly far from center, I had to change 1 bus and 2 metro lanes to reach the Duomo.

  Mieszkanie nie było czyste, toalety brudne, kuchnia klejącą
  Wiatrak nie działał (w nocy 28 stopni)
  Check in był możliwy dopiero po 17:00 (mimo że ogłaszają że dostępny od 15:00) więc trzeba było czekać pod blokiem w 35 stopniowym upale
  Nie ma parkingu (klika miejsc pod blokiem zawsze zajętych, reszta na zakazie)
  Bardzo głośna lokalizacja
