First Impressions

Mora Apartment sits on a quiet side street just off the main tourist drag in Milan‘s historic center, and honestly, that’s part of its charm. The building itself is classic Milanese — you know, that understated elegance that the city does so well. It’s a three-star place, but don’t let that fool you into thinking it’s basic. I mean, the lobby is simple, but there’s something refreshing about a place that doesn’t try too hard to impress you right off the bat.

The Neighborhood

Via Gian Giacomo Mora is one of those streets that feels authentically local, even though you’re literally steps from the Duomo. I actually stumbled across a tiny bakery just around the corner that locals queue up at every morning — the kind of place you’d never find if you stayed in the touristy areas. The Navigli district is maybe a 15-minute walk south, and you can reach La Scala in about the same time heading north. What I love is that you get the convenience without the constant stream of tour groups outside your window.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was larger than I expected, with high ceilings that made everything feel airy. The setup is apartment-style, which means you get a proper living area and a small kitchenette — nothing fancy, but perfect for making morning coffee or storing those amazing pastries from the market. The bathroom was recently renovated (you can tell), and the shower actually had decent water pressure, which honestly can be hit-or-miss in older Milan buildings.

Practical Details

There’s no on-site restaurant, but that’s actually not a problem in this neighborhood — you’re surrounded by incredible local spots. The staff speaks decent English and they’re genuinely helpful with recommendations, not just the obvious tourist traps. WiFi worked fine throughout my stay, and there’s air conditioning, which you’ll definitely appreciate during Milan’s surprisingly humid summers. Parking isn’t included, but there’s a public garage about two blocks away if you’re driving.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t going to be the fanciest place you’ve ever stayed, but it gets the fundamentals right. You’re paying for location and comfort, not marble lobbies or concierge services. The 7.6 rating makes sense — it’s solid without being spectacular. What really works here is that you feel like you’re living in Milan rather than just visiting it, and for a few days in one of Europe’s most expensive cities, that’s worth quite a bit.

  The room and location were very nice.
  
  What could be improved: No parking, I had to deal with a third party, I never saw one human, all transactions were done by text/phone call. Everything was automated. Getting the key was arduous. I had to call the third party 4 times before someone actually answered. Customer service was non-existent.

  The location of the apartment, close to the metro station. It's great that the two rooms have 2 bathrooms. Upon arrival we found cold water in the fridge, snacks, tea and coffee on the table. Very good facilities.

  Very clean basic apartment in prime location staff very helpful on the watsap . Was for my dads 70th so needed 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms so this was a good option

  What could be improved: Both beds are awful, it’s not a big single mattress, it’s combined from two mattresses, and both titled to the middle – it’s really uncomfortable to sleep, and even if you try to sleep from one side to avoid sleeping at the gap between mattresses you will slipping to the middle to the gap…
  
  No sockets near the bed, no light switch in the room – you need to go the kitchen to turn off the light. There is a lamp but as I mentioned no sockets at the top of the bed so you need to stand up to turn it off.
  
  the shelves were covered in dust, I don’t know why the bill includes clearing if it was not clear enough before our arrival.
  
  Curtains are transparent and roller shutters seem do not work (at least we were not able to close them) so at the morning it’s too light if you prefer to sleep a bit more, and at night windows cannot be fully closed.
  
  Apartment is really small – it’s not enough space to go near the bed, you are hitting tv once you need to go to one of toilets.
  
  Faucet at the kitchen has a broken handle.
  
  Twice I’ve got information from the house keeper (via booking ) to leave the keys at the table, but finally it must be left at the key box near the flat.
  
  Keys box has been with entered password on our arrival.

  The location was great. It is very close to the Duomo and to tram station. The apartment was easy to access and the staff was very helpful. However, the bed sheets and the towels should’ve been cleaner.

  amazing location, the street around the apartment is just buzzing with life, the restaurants are very close, the Doumo is 12 minutes amazing walk though the shopping centre, I would for sure advise this flat, the TVs even have netflix lol
