This four-star property sits right on Ripa di Porta Ticinese, and honestly, the location does most of the talking. The moment you step outside, you’re in the heart of one of Milan’s most vibrant neighborhoods — the kind of place where aperitivo culture is still very much alive.

Here’s the thing about staying in the Navigli district — it’s like getting a crash course in authentic Milanese life. The hotel overlooks the canal system that Leonardo da Vinci helped design (yeah, that Leonardo), and in the evenings, the waterways come alive with locals meeting for drinks. I mean, you’re literally steps away from some of the city’s best bars and trattorias, but when you want to retreat, the hotel feels surprisingly peaceful.

The staff here actually knows the neighborhood — they’ll point you toward the weekend antique markets or tell you which restaurant serves the best risotto alla milanese without the tourist markup. That kind of local insight is worth its weight in gold when you’re trying to experience Milan like someone who actually lives there.

Your Room

The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully designed — nothing flashy, but everything works exactly as it should. My room had this great view of the canal, and honestly, watching the evening light reflect off the water became part of my daily routine. The beds are proper comfortable, and there’s enough space to spread out without feeling like you’re camping in a closet (which, let’s face it, happens too often in European city hotels).

Getting Around

What I really appreciated was how connected you feel to the rest of Milan from here. The Porta Genova metro station is just a short walk away, so getting to the Duomo or the fashion district takes maybe fifteen minutes. But honestly, I found myself walking everywhere — the Navigli area has this energy that makes you want to explore on foot, especially in the early evening when the aperitivo crowd starts gathering along the canals.

This place works because it gets the balance right. You’re staying somewhere that feels genuinely Milanese — not some sanitized tourist version of the city. The hotel has secured parking nearby, which is actually a big deal if you’re driving in Milan, and the whole area buzzes with life without being overwhelming. It’s the kind of spot where you can have a proper Italian coffee in the morning, spend your day seeing the sights, then come back to join the locals for evening drinks right outside your door.

  Patrizia the host is very accommodating. The property is easy to find and it’s 5min walk from the metro station, outside the property there’s a lot of restaurants and bars. The place is very clean and it has everything you need from cooker, kettle, cultery and it’s just enough space for 3 people, The balcony is spacious and very nice to lounge. We will definitely book again!

  Everything was a joy!
  Patrizia's apartment is in a historical area of Milan, easily connected to all central areas and airports by public transport. It is situated nearby lots of restaurants and nice artsy shops, but even so it was very quiet and nice and we had a great sleep, the neighbors were respectful of the rest hours.
  It was very clean and the furnishing is of absolute quality, chosen by someone who has a true eye for beauty. The terrace is great to have your coffee and plan your day. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare breakfast and coffee, and nearby there are stores where you can buy local food.
  Check in was easy and so was check out. There is no elevator so you might have a bit of a workout carrying your baggage, but only one floor.
  Communication was quick and efficient.

  It’s spacious and the terrace was a good bonus. Near the metro and lots of shops and restaurants just outside the apartment. It looks like “Little Venice” with the canal along the streets and the line of restaurants and shops
