Perfect Place in Porta Venezia Overview
First Impressions
Tucked away on a quiet residential street in Porta Venezia, Perfect Place in Porta Venezia honestly lives up to its name. I mean, the entrance might look unassuming from Via Lazzaro Palazzi, but step inside and you’ll immediately sense this isn’t your typical four-star property. The owners have clearly put thought into every detail, from the thoughtfully curated artwork to the way natural light floods the common areas.
The Neighborhood Advantage
What I love about this location is how authentically Milanese it feels. You’re in Porta Venezia — one of Milan’s most vibrant neighborhoods — where locals actually live and work, not just the tourist bubble around the Duomo. There’s this fantastic morning market just two blocks away where I watched nonne haggling over the best tomatoes. The Stazione Centrale is close enough (about a 10-minute walk) that you can easily catch trains to Lake Como or Venice, but far enough that you won’t hear the constant rumble of departing trains.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was honestly bigger than I expected — and I’ve stayed in plenty of Milan hotels where you can barely open your suitcase. Each space feels more like a well-designed apartment than a hotel room, with thoughtful touches like a proper coffee machine (not those pod things) and enough electrical outlets that you won’t be crawling under furniture to charge your phone. The bathrooms are particularly impressive, with rainfall showers that actually have decent water pressure.
Dining and Daily Life
While there isn’t a formal restaurant on-site, the breakfast setup is surprisingly comprehensive — fresh pastries from a local bakery, proper Italian coffee, and they even accommodate dietary restrictions without making a big fuss about it. What’s really clever is how they’ve partnered with nearby establishments, so you get insider recommendations that feel genuine rather than touristy. The front desk staff actually knows which trattoria has the best osso buco and which wine bar stays open latest on Sundays.
Why Guests Love It
You know what sets this place apart? It’s the kind of hotel where the staff remembers your name after one night, and the 9.6 rating makes complete sense once you experience their approach to hospitality. There’s secure parking available (a genuine blessing in Milan), and the whole operation feels more like staying with incredibly organized friends than at a commercial property. The attention to detail extends to things like providing umbrellas during sudden downpours and having maps marked with their personal favorite gelato spots — small gestures that actually matter when you’re exploring a city.

Reviews of Perfect Place in Porta Venezia
5 stars – Jamelah from Spain – 24 November 2025 (10/10)
The owner of the apartment, Lorenzo, was very hospitable and kind. He welcomed us with a big smile, checked us in at 12 PM, and even gave us the larger apartment along with some treats for our honeymoon. The apartment is spacious and comfortable, and Lorenzo also set our preferred temperature for the entire stay. We truly enjoyed our time there and were able to rest properly.
The television is a smart TV, so you can relax and watch series after a long day of walking and sightseeing. There is one bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room. The bathroom is large and clean. The kitchen is fully equipped, and there are also condiments provided, which is convenient if you feel like cooking and eating in the apartment—especially since it was very cold and rainy these past few days.
The location is great: 30 minutes from the Duomo, 5 minutes from the Unes supermarket, 3 minutes from the Porta Venezia metro station, and about 20 minutes from Garibaldi and the Brera district. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and both KFC and McDonald’s are just 5 minutes away. There is also a minimarket right in front of the apartment that stays open until midnight.
Lorenzo kindly let us stay until 2 PM even though the checkout is only until 12PM (depending on the arrival time of the next guest) and stored our bags inside the apartment until 4:30 PM before the next guests arrived. When we returned, the housekeeper was there, and she was very nice and dedicated to her work. I saw how thoroughly she cleaned everything—changing all the mattresses and towels, washing them in the washing machine inside the apartment, ironing, and neatly folding them for the next guests.
They are extremely accommodating, and we had a wonderful time staying there. I would definitely book this apartment again when I come back to Milan.Exceptional – Corbat from Switzerland – 12 October 2025 (10/10)
